Game auto-ending for SK makes sense by the way - CL can (theoretically) do a rather scummy time-wasting force draw by turning on their defense so SK can't kill them even if they can't kill SK back.

unless SK can get bloodlust by attacking immunes, it should always be a draw. Either a draw for no deaths (cl has def, but can't kill sk) or a draw for everyone dead (cl has pow attack, but dies to sk) The only win condition would be getting into that 1v1 with bloodlust already enabled

CL can either draw via mutual kill or draw via stalling out. Except for the fact that they risk SK killing them with bloodlust if they try to stall, so it's in their best interest to empower defense and kill. If the game's going to force it to not even give the option, it should force a draw and not a win.

Just had a solo PB game (AA) and named myself "piratepiratepi" and claimed pirate the entire time. never gave a will and i screwed around teh entire day chat and everyone ignored me. ended up winning when i transformed cause no one questioned the pirate for some reason and we hung jest last who haunted last townie

It's because of Doomsayers and Ritualists. If they know your role, they can kill you. Claiming an alignment prevents this and allows a persons role to be narrowed down.

VFR gives roles to the Rit and Doom too guess in the night. VFA doesn’t.

ToS2 punishes exact role claims with the Ritualistic and Doomsayer being able to unstoppably kill you if they guess your role correctly. So now the meta has revolved around claiming your ALIGNMENT rather than your full role so that you can still give useful information while not being necessarily forced to reveal your entire role early. Town Investigatives are exempt so they can full post

I hate that the game auto ended. The game gifting the game to the NK when there was a CL made no sense to me. Auto end should ONLY kick in when there is only one possible outcome (other than neither person doing anything and it ending in a draw) It sucks that the game would have been a draw but it’s so BS that CL just lost
