Town of Salem Ranked | THE SILENT MVP | Jailor Gameplay

Town of Salem is back today with some more jailor gameplay. I've been playing the slow start jailor strategy for a little while now, staying quiet during the day and aggressive during the night. Asking for roles during the day in whispers and jailing those unwilling to tell me at night. In town of salem the jailor is one of the most powerful and important roles in the game.

Town was fairly toxic this time around, but gg anyhow. Mafia had it fairly rough, especially with early WW death and exe being unsuccessful. If ww got a few town kills in N2 (Especially since you had claimed by then), they may have had better odds. Honestly though, refusing to claim to the jailor at all was a bad play by 3, though I'm not sure they ruined the game entirely by doing this. Also, more lessons in why not to claim what you show up as.

you can always claim roles not in investigative results. And if you get checked out by investigators, you can sway the Town by claiming they clicked on someone else but have you in the will. It's better NOT to claim roles within investigative results since smart players can somehow predict what role you could be.

I really do think one of the biggest factors for evils being so weak is the amount of guaranteed power town has on the standard list. A confirmed jailor is something we'd NEVER run on sc2 mafia lists. Confirmed role was always something like sheriff, with more randoms for maf to hide in. Retri IS a big problem, and I definitely think town could do with a few more weaker roles to help improve random town from not being a complete blowout, but I also can see how random town would also be a problem in this game due to being able to prioritize your chance to roll certain roles. I don't know, it's tough.

When you're pressured to come up with a story that factors in half a dozen pieces of information, your lies tend to fall apart. That's probably why people get so tilted at the strategy. It's a huge psychological tell when someone is immensely uncomfortable at the idea of being timed. Plus, most people don't like timers in games, but those types of people tend to crack under stress and pressure. The strat isn't to immediately execute someone who fails to respond, it's to see how they react psychologically to the timer.

Yep, some people don’t. It’s a problem with 321 jailor strategy in ranked; evils know about it so good players will get their claim ready on D1. Usually i find it’s actually town who don’t have a will ready, because they’re innocent and don’t need to try as hard to prove themselves. The 321 strategy does force evils into a claim but not only do I find it an incredibly annoying strategy, I also think it can backfire horribly in the hands on a bad jailor. It also frustrates townies who are then going to spend the night yelling at jailor rather than sharing useful info

Little youngin's oughta stop complaining about the countdown, it isn't a countdown to death, it's to make the prisoner panic and claim something typical of an evil role. It works great, it gives more information than asking for role and that's it. Also anyone who says "hey" or "hi" first before claiming is evil.
