Omg what a great idea, and I bet you could do some of the prep stuff too. I actually love the prep work in the powersheets. Maybe the empty pages in the back could have some prep stuff? Thanks for sharing your creative and beautiful planner!

I do love the prep work in the PowerSheets. It is the main reason I have continued purchasing the PowerSheets. Before I knew about PowerSheets I did my own kind of prep work in my regular personal journal, and then set goals from there. I may end up grabbing my old PowerSheets and creating my own prep work this year based on all the different questions that have been asked over the years as well as my New Year's Eve reflection questions I have been going through for the past 20 years. We shall see!

Guuuurrrrrllllllll !!!! I called it last year .. I had reached out to the Cultivate Team and let them know that I was noticing that Lara wasn't as visible with her brand, and I'm with you - it was that connection I had to the CWM brand since 2017. The team assured me that Lara was still going to be uber involved ... and I'm sure she is.. but I also noticed that she hasn't been recording her podcast episodes (which truly encouraged me) and I noticed a huge void where she had once been so active for the brand. I, too, haven't kept up on my Powersheets .. but still LOVE them and I love love love the prep work, so will I be purchasing again ? YES !!! LOL I just feel like Lara 'broke up' with us ... :(

I agree about the podcast episodes. And you put it perfectly, it was like Lara broke up with us. I'm really excited to see what changes they may have made for the new powersheets though!

I just wanted to share this. I actually use the life evaluation but I have changed some of the areas to reflect some of the priorities in MY life. They look a little different than what the cultivate team has laid them out to be and I think that is perfectly fine. There is no way to accommodate every person's life or priorities. For instance, "Friends" isn't an area that I focus much on. Recreation isn't a priority for me either. So I have swapped those out for a Home and a section for adventures with my son (he is the last child I have at home). I saw that the categories were a little different for this year, too, and I am sure that I will adjust them for what is important for me. I do miss Lara but I have only been connected to the brand for about 5 years so I wasn't connected through the brand solely through her. Maybe that made a difference. I noticed her absence but the products work so well for me that isn't a deal breaker. I definitely believe that people should use what works for them. I am curious to see what you choose for next year.
@Townsendhouse12 жыл бұрын
I absolutely agree! And have always written my goals in my own categories. I think that if it were more like last year's where they had the categories, but they didn't try to have you write goals in those categories, and instead used it as a checkin, it would be easier for me to justify the cost of the PowerSheets. I do plan to purchase the new PowerSheets this year, and will go through it to see if I decide to use it. I really love the prep work, and have always enjoyed that process of deep diving on what is most important to me. We shall see what I actually end up doing in the new year! It's all kind of up in the air.

I also needed to set my own areas and cannot function as well with other people setting the categories or area. I found the one from get organized hq as more of a fit and then combined with a book titled goals from zig ziglar. I'll chart my own course based on my specific life.

I just purchased the get organized hq planner yesterday! I have never seen it before, so I am interested to go through it. I'm kind of in an exploratory phase at the moment after years of using all of the same planning resources. It's a lot of fun 😊

I’m actually done with powersheets because of their new ownership and the new owners’ heavy emphasis on fundamentalist Christianity and anti-lgbtq ideals. I’m looking for another goal planner though!

I have really been enjoying creating my own tending list spread each month with a few different additions. I'm not sure what I am going to be doing for 2023 yet! I would love to say that I could bullet journal it all, but I'm not sure I really have that amount of time to commit to setting up everything every.single.month. If you decide on a new goal planner I would love to hear what it is! I don't need all the weekly/daily planning that comes with most goal planners...so we shall see!

Have you looked at Makselife?
@Townsendhouse12 жыл бұрын
@@HanneleneBeillard I haven't looked at makselife too much yet. I don't need an actual planner, so I am mainly interested in their companion notebooks. But, I really need to see what is inside before I commit to buying them. Because the notebooks are undated and a quarterly planner, I wish you could buy just one. I think that there will be a lot of reviews out about them today so I am looking forward to seeing what they are all about!

I miss Lara and her day-to-day influence as well. She definitely enhanced my PowerSheets experience. Have you looked into MakseLife?
@Townsendhouse12 жыл бұрын
I have, but I don't need the weekly/daily planning pages with the goal setting because I already have a weekly/daily planning system that works for me. Do they have just a goal planner? If they had that, I might try it out! Are you using the PowerSheets this year?
@MamaLeia2 жыл бұрын
@@Townsendhouse1 I am currently still using PowerSheets. This is year seven for me and I'm contemplating what I'll do for 2023. I love them, but it just feels like something is missing lately (probably Lara and the large sense of community she provided). MakseLife has what they call companion notebooks for those who already have a daily/weekly planning system they love. I especially found the compass assessment tool to be helpful in evaluating my life.
@Townsendhouse12 жыл бұрын
The companion notebooks sound really interesting! And this is year 7 for me as well! Maybe it's the seven year itch, or maybe I have become complacent with what I have been doing. It's always interesting for me to hear other's opinions, thank you!

I have the companion notebooks and they're great. I took mine to Staples to get cut and put onto a coil because I like having a goal planner. (I put it on an EC coil and it fits my A5 interchangeable covers)
@Townsendhouse12 жыл бұрын
That is an awesome idea! Good to know about the A5 covers. Are the companion notebooks always available? Or do they come out with a new series in the fall like a normal goal planner? I will have to look into it a bit more.

I really like how you set up those pages in your ECLP! I tried to grab a screenshot to really look it over, but it’s not a crisp image. Are you planning on putting any photos up on your website? Also, I love the idea of taking a day each month to specifically homeschool prep... but my children are 6 and 3 and I wouldn’t be able to focus and keep them off the ceiling fans (if you know what I mean). Is this something that you did when your two oldest were littles? Or does it work now because Emma and Jack can help with Lucy?
@Townsendhouse12 жыл бұрын
Send me an email at hello@townsend-house.com and I can send you a picture 😊 I should do a blog post about it, and probably will later in the fall if I decide to continue using my EC Life Planner instead of the PowerSheets. I have been having a planning day since Emma and Jack were really little. However, it was at different parts of the day - usually during their nap/rest time. It doesn't take an entire day, and it doesn't always work that I have consecutive time to work on it. When Emma and Jack were younger, I had little binders for them to make their own "planner" with stickers and markers, and one of those little tables tiny tables for toddlers. It worked. It wasn't perfect (there are always interruptions), but it worked. I have also unapologetically used PBS Kids when they were little to give me 30 minutes of uninterrupted time. If you can't do it during the week, I definitely advocate for putting yourself on the calendar for a half day free of kids on a Saturday or Sunday once a month and have dad hang out with the little ones if you can. It just makes things run smoother for me, and the more decisions and other junk I can get out of my head before the month begins, the better 😊
