The reason the officer had to write the ticket for the improper tag (even though the car is supposedly registered) was because that was the underlying reason for the stop. Once stopped, the officer can ask for proof of insurance. If the officer didn't have an underlying cause for the stop (bad tag), she wouldn't have cause to ask for insurance, and the insurance summons (in NYC it was a $500 fine) would be thrown out. That lady in the orange dress is one smart cookie who, I am sure, has been through this a number of times before.

@@djm3suxx it was hard to follow, but it sounded like the registration was valid the sticker was just not displayed and mizz tudie was arguing that the officer should have ignored that because the computer showed the registration was valid......the officer said that still gives her cause to make the stop and then the no insurance was discovered......which I am surprised the computer did not also show....some like mizz tudie will ask why does the sticker matter and the reason is because her and whatever madden football kang she has sleeping on her couch will place the sticker on his unregistered and uninsured car and then hope the cops do not run the plates they just see the sticker and roll on......only a fool does not understand that is you legally have the sticker and paid for it that you slap it on the car.....otherwise you are playing games with something and the cops need to give you a ticket

​@@rodrod383the decals in GA have the license plate they belong to printed on the decal. If the sticker doesn't match the plate, that's cause to stop the car. In this case, she would have gotten a warning for the tag decal issue. Except, no insurance made it an impound.

All across America paper tags are a problem. Philadelphia has the best laws: 1. no driver's license tow it, 2. no tag tow it, 3 no insurance tow...safer, insured roads

Ohio does the same AND they punish your driving record. No driving for six months. Seize your car tags. You pay high risk SR22 insurance for six years. It adds up. O and the ticket you get is HIGH.

2nd best system I'd say. Over here they did away with unregistered 'ghost cars' entirely. It's registered from the moment it's imported to the moment a certified scrapyard proves it's scrapped, and if the trail ends anywhere in between the last owner pays constantly. So if your car isn't insured or not in a decent state, you get automatic fines. I actually had to write a protest because the garage I sold my old car to gave me my clearance certificate the next day. 1 day unregistered and boom, here's a fine.

​@jamesleicher2991 It's all on computer here as well. People used to make fake insurance policy cards. No good for an accident but good enough to avoid a ticket. No more. The state computer is the final authority on whether the car does or does not have insurance. Likewise, the license renewal is in the computer. If you renew and pay but never receive the decal, you are still considered renewed. But if you SAY you paid and renewed and never got the decal, it doesn't matter. If the state says you didn't pay, you didn't pay. She didn't pay. Why? Well you have to have active insurance to get that renewal. If you don't have insurance, you can't renew. It is all connected. It's EASY to renew, as well. All you have to do is take your license card to grocery stores which have a sort of bank machine. You scan your license. The machine shows all the renewals you can do. You pay right there and it instantly produces the decal. It takes 30 seconds. No lines. No waiting.

A view from the UK. This woman driver in orange is a good example of the ignorance of the young today and the position of the mobile phone in their lives. She has been pulled over for having no tag and is in conversation with the police officer, yet the mobile phone takes priority in the scene. You see this mainly when they are being served at tills in shops.

I work in my front yard, and a rough estimate of how many people put their cell phone first when behind the wheel, or even conducting activities would be over 9 out of 10. Sit at a stop light and watch people pulled up or proceeding through the intersection. Some may appear to be talking to themselves, because they are using an integrated device, but the rest have simply dropped all pretense and all are actively using their phones. They have no off switch either, so when the car stops regardless of the reason, the phone use is still happening. A smart phone with a camera can be just as lethal in some cases as a firearm. It can be a distraction, promote a false sense of confidence, and prolong activities providing an opportunity for more problems to impact the situation. I would like to see legislation passed that would allow police to instantly taser someone that refuses to stop talking on their cell phone, or someone that is interfering with an investigation for the purpose of filming the activities, when they refuse to obey a lawful order to keep their distance.

Forget the phone .. look at her. The kids these days. And it's just not this video, it's 'every' video. It's the new generation. Nothing is their fault. I liked when she asked the office why she issued her a citation for no registration because she didn't have to. The officer said, "I did have to, It was my probable cause." the girl continued to tell her she didn't HAVE to. And, the officer said she didn't have to sit out there and argue, the female could jus go to court. I really love this officee. Professional is her middle name! If she would have hit someone with no insurance it would have been a nightmare for the driver of the other vehicle. I got a good laugh out of that Uber car and I could not believe the bad shape that car was in. I would not ride in that care either. @@arbiter1 That's the theory, but not the reality. If someone can't afford insurance, they aren't going to be paying anything justifying court costs. A friend of mine was hit by an uninsured driver. He lost his no claims bonus, and his car was in the shop for ages. Just with the excess charges and loss of no-claims, he effectively paid for the repairs himself.

all paperwork has to be in order, but in some places they can have it towed from the impound lot, but usually we all know how that will end.....with them driving it again illegally....I am not sure if places will let it be towed out with no insurance though and there are usually some other stipulations to having it towed out too

Im also an uber driver, and even though theres no boss above me, they do want a certain level of cleanliness and professionalism from their drivers.
