6:30 you should really get yourself a 6' length of 3/8 soft nylon rope and use it to tie off the sterring wheel to eitber the door frame and or the shortened seat belt. Dont trust the seat belts on their own. Lessons learned by a lifer.

My friend had his RAM reposed and he paid off the balance except for 89 cents. They towed his truck away a week later and he had to pay the balance in full and the 2nd tow fee. The bank had no sense of humor.

The deal was, give me the keys and you can get your stuff. No keys, no stuff. Simple. I might have just driven off after that little tantrum. You sir are an example of a very fair and honourable person dedicated to your craft with an immense amount of patience and understanding. 👍👍🙂🙂

Always call the bank or dealership and work out something if you know your going to be late on the payment. It does no good to ignore the payment. Tow trucks are a dime a dozen nowadays.
@wildbill23c Жыл бұрын
Very true. Had to do that in the past...simply called the bank and let them know what was going on, they just split up the payments so it was easier to manage for a couple months until I got things caught back up again....then went back to the regular monthly payment. No harm done, they were very helpful and understanding, and happy to help. Its when you blatantly ignore the past due notices, and phone calls, they get mad and have no other choice but to send the repo man after your vehicle.

I had a Honda Civic repo’d back in 2010. I left the keys under the floor mat, left the car unlocked and told the bank where the car was at. No need to fight the repo man. I simply bought something I couldn’t afford. Have to give it back.

Looks like a really nice truck you’re driving there. It certainly seems that quite a few of them are outfitted like luxury cars nowadays. Then again, when you call a tow truck like this your office, having a comfortable interior certainly helps.

Why does 99% of debtors who fall behind in their payments ALWAYS have some drama when the repo man shows up to collect the property?? They act like it was theirs, but the bank technically always owns the property UNTIL the loan is paid off and the bank removes any liens it had on the property. At least, that's my understanding of how the loan process works.

I don't get why they get mad at you guys. You're just doing your job.. They are the ones who did something wrong and get pissed at you. I can admit I had my car repo'd. I heard the guy in the middle of the night trying to get it. I went outside (he assumed I was gonna be loud and shit) and he warned me not to come near the car. I told him I was coming out to give him the keys and he can take his time. I asked if I could get my stuff out and he let me. He thanked me for being nice and understanding. I was the one who fucked up with payments, not him.

Hard times fall on anyone.. I Feel sorry for the guy really...To owe anything on an 08 sounds a little bit crazy to me..Really happens allot with these buy here pay here dealerships where 250 a month for 25 yrs is not unheard of..i understand his frustration though..It's stressful for sure..had it happen to me a long time ago as well..The neighbor came running over and started trying to take my toneau cover and anything else he could as the tow driver was hooking it up..Neighbor talking crazy about how it didn't matter but i told him to stop..Because it devalued the vehicle for when they resell it and i have to make up the difference..Even the tow guy chased him out of there and as it turned out the neighbor was the tow drivers Bro-in-law so that's how he knew i was getting repo'ed..Anyway it turned my world upside down as i only had a motorcycle to get to work even in bad weather as i had to ride it till i found something to replace it..Divorce has a weird way of getting things in your life out of whack..i recovered but it took awhile..Just fell too far behind to keep it but whatever the excuse is the lien holders could care less..Actually they sold the my vehicle for more than i owed so i got a little return on it but thats not always the case in most of these repo's...The attitude the old guy there displayed was kind of rough but the stress of what was happening sends his mind in over-drive because this is an event that has him in a bind..for the most part he realized his demise and i think your asking him for the keys more than a few times challenged him for trust in his word and for most people that is where the line gets crossed..you kept your cool so good for you..

HSBC bank was screwing me so I told them to come get their vehicle and ceased making payments. Took about four months of irritating phone calls from HSBC. One day I finally handed the tow truck driver the keys and asked if he needed help loading the sonofabitch. He looked a bit taken aback to say the least. That was in 2009, haven't set foot in a bank and have been debt free ever since.
