If she got her way and he towed the car to her house, she probably wouldn't have gotten it registered or insured and would have kept driving it for as long as she possibly could to save money. That's why it had to go to impound because now she has to provide proof of current registration and insurance to get it out... and pay the towing and lot fees. This is an example of her trying to save money and costing her more. State of Georgia doing what's right to protect law abiding drivers from those without insurance from being on the road and causing accidents that end up costing all insureds in GA more money as a result. Came to comment the exact same thing. Towed to the house means she isn't held responsible and could easy drive off again and learn the hard way why you need insurance

Ditto to the above 2 post. I was coming to say the same thing. Good for Georgia holding people responsible for those of us that want to be protected from others without insurance. I've been hit by people without insurance and then my insurance has to cover it....

Did anyone notice both tows were for Nissans? This crappy automaker caters to irresponsible people, with lousy credit scores. They finance anybody. Shameful to drive w/o insurance and the other one parked by a fire hydrant. If people are irresponsible in life, that carries over to how they operate a motor vehicle. This is how Nissan can sell their JUNK and get away with it because these people have no choice. Nissan needs to go out of business. If you encounter a Nissan on the road, keep your distance.

What’s the no insurance fines there? I am in Ontario Canada our fine is $5000 and a second time could be up to like $20000

She wants to avoid the punishment by having it towed to her house. When its impounded, you have to go to the yard and prove you got new tags, prove you have insurance, prove you paid the ticket, pay the tow and impound fee. Letting you take the car to your house would be dumb.

The problem with requiring insurance is that it puts the insurance companies in the drivers seat (so to speak). My insurance costs have jumped $200 in the last two years through no fault of my own - no accidents, no tickets, no moving or stationary violations. And I get that my insurance cost is relatively low compared to many, but a 70% hike over 2 years is still painful (especially on a fixed income)!

No insurance is bad for everyone, parking in front of fire hydrants is not cool. Some try anything but the correct way to do things. Always great to see you in action.
