When talking about toxicity, it's not a black and white thing. Almost everything you put in your body can be toxic in a certain amounts. For example 3-4 litre's of water in a short period can lead to the symptoms of water intoxication they can include confusion, disorientation, nausea, and vomiting. So yes, there are toxins in many plants but in most of the foods that we eat they only become toxic when eaten in excess.

Wow I loved this so much! It’s so beautiful to hear people say “ya you can get everything you need from meat but there’s more to it” like I suffered mentally only eating meat. I was not happy. However, being able to enjoy my grandmas cooking during thanksgiving and Christmas is priceless. If one of my kids is practicing baking and make some cookies, I will enjoy every bite! I make a requested dinner and dessert for each one of my kids birthdays. I don’t ask them to pick out something carnivore. They have free range and I make it and I enjoy it with them. If my husband takes me out for our anniversary I’m gonna eat some cake and have an old fashioned. The trick is most of the time at home I’m cooking mostly meat. Bacon and eggs everyday for breakfast. Maybe some berries for a snack. Meat heavy lunch and dinner with only cooked veggies and then for dessert a good raw cheese with a little honey. Makes me happy! Makes my family happy. No mo fomo ❤

If you're willing to keep activating the Randle Cycle and dying early, then keep doing it. You're not doing yourself any favours, you're just an addict who wants to be told it's OK to relapse. Addicts in AA and other programs all go through the same thing - they want to be better but they're around enablers. Don't sugar coat your addiction. You are a 'social eater' and you have no support group around to help maintain your lifestyle. If your grandma and family were carnivore you wouldn't be missing out on the social aspect, and if it's not the social aspect that's the problem then it's literally just you being addicted to junk food.

Somebody once told me that nuts go rancid almost as soon as you crack the shell, and that's why nuts used to be sold with their shells on. They said "every nut you've ever eaten has been rancid." I didn't really believe them, or think much of it, until I got a job where there happened to be a big walnut tree on the property. I would drive my truck over the fallen walnuts to crack the shells, and then go and pick them up and dig the nuts out. Oh my God, it was like night and day. I realized then that, yes, every nut I had ever eaten before was indeed rancid. Now the nuts in the store have zero appeal for me. I know that they will taste like trash compared to a freshly shelled nut, and those are hard enough to get hold of that I basically never eat nuts anymore.

After a certain period of time I stopped feeling the need to satisfy "emotional" or "societal" needs by branching outside of animal foods because the pain of flare ups was not worth it. However Dr. Schindler is an unparalleled resource of information regarding the variety of foods that one can eat when they aren't constrained by an auto-immune disease and are just looking to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Yes, seems like excuse or justification to eat toxic food. For me, it's not about whether or not to eat plants it's about Optimal versus sub optimal diet. That said, you're free to eat whatever you want to and deal with the consequences.

@@amandaburleson2035oney is the same as refined sugar, same saccharose molecules and same lack of fiber. Ice cream stays a sweet treat that you should not indulge that often. Dark bread and whole grain dark bread has lots of fiber compared to wheat, thus it is pretty healthy. When eating animal based, you should consider cardiovascular risk of high saturated fat intake trying to reduce meat and choose less fattier meats. Dairy seems to be an exception according to studies so cheese and yoghurt is fine. By using raw milk you are risking an GI infection. You can be lucky and the milk you bought is fine but you can be unlucky and get sick from bacteria growing in the milk. @@8dreamersfarm Many of the people on carnivore eat about 10% plant foods in some form, but lots of of people in the chat sees very set on being 100% meat. This might explain why its working for some better than others, with things like some fibre helping with digestion and lowering the risk of things like scurvy. For starters the tree was always full of little bugs falling on you, then take the bus off was difficult. Best was to wait for almond to dry further and then husk would come off. So we’d gather he almonds and leave in a basket for a month or so. Then remove the husks. Then crack open the shell and try really hard no cracking the whole thing, so one has to do it carefullly, which takes longer. Then mom would put the almonds in water to sprout and detoxify , then get them out, let them dry some , and then put them in the oven to roast. We’d take the skin off before eating it. We’d eat roasted almonds for a few months, and that was it for the rest of the year…

Thank you for this video Lillie. A lot of the videos I’ve watched lately everyone seems so dogmatic and talking about only eating nutritionally dense foods and not talking about enjoyment. The part about eating the birthday cake at the 5 year olds party was so refreshing. Food is more then just nutrition.❤

The caveat of looking to the ancient past and the nutrition then that our behavior and needs changed. Main points would be: Movement: We just don‘t move as much as they had to back then because of modern jobs, transport and convenience. We are way more healthy due to modern medicine and do have a lifespan of around 80 years while it is estimated that it was around 20-30 years. Cardiovascular disease risk does not really matter with that short of a life span. We need a healthy diet for these modern times, that should be less caloric, since we don‘t really move a lot and low in saturated fat. But I think what we can learn from our ancestors is to start cooking ourself again, using whole foods, since refined carbs and highly processed foods do increase the risk for several diseases including cardiovascular risk. That would be my stance on that. I really agree on a lot what he says. Variety is important.

I am sitting in a heat dome with a wildfire making it impossible to breath... carnie or vegan - neither is healthy in the long run. When we fuel our bodies via industrial agriculture cars trucks factories. Our biggest addictions to ease, convenience, money and shopping ... We have destroyed the ancestral climate... Human òptimal diet ìn the future will be vat grown sludge recycling in fireproof industrial bunkers... If we survive at all as a species. because we have destroyed the ancestral ecosystem. Carnie vegan or sadist - makes no difference - everything we do is cooking the planet. Enjoy every living thing to the max and love the people yòu are with because this abundance and freedom to pick and choose what we want is not going to last much longer. Me again 😊.... so I'd love it if Dr. Bill would share what veggies (all he mentioned really was raw kraut) that he eats and another question.... so he mentions sourdough being the ONLY way he and his family consumes grains... but also said they don't eat them often... sooooo how does that work?! Sourdough has to be 'fed' daily... and there is usually a 'discard' involved in that process. What does he do with the daily or almost daily discards from his sourdough making? And how does he store it and keep it viable and active to be used 'as needed?' And I guess along with these questions I need to also ask- what is 'not a lot' mean to him when it comes to consuming sourdoughs and fermented grains? Is he eating them once a week? Once a month?... 4 times a year... this is important info to know. I very much enjoyed this video- I learned a LOT! It would be really cool if he did a few recipes for people on his website or KZbin... Thanks again for doing all these teachings you've been doing here lately @LillieKane I am really enjoying the balance they bring to the discussion in the carnivore/ketovore community.

@@tommorgan7599 Our ancestors ate a ton of plants, huh. We don't have a functioning cecum, our colons are too small to extract nutrition from fermented fiber, our stomach pH is between 1.5 and 2.2, ancient plaque was comprised of nearly 90% meat with the remaining 10% being a mixture of tubers, mushrooms, seeds, and tree bark (from cleaning), and the only bioavailable forms of nutrition are animal based (K2 mk4, heme iron, retinol, cholecalciferol, saturated fat, b12, b6....). We can't digest cellulose, and wild plants were toxic and nutrient deficient. Do more research before commenting. We're obligate hypercarnivores and our diets mainly consisted of meat, with starchy tubers being filler foods for when we couldn't find meat.

@tommorgan7599
@tommorgan7599 11 ай бұрын
@@mgacy2957 Firstly our cecum does function playing a role in the immune system and absorbing water and electrolytes, but its not for the fermentation of fiber. The colon plays the crucial role in breaking down dietary fiber and producing beneficial compounds. While it is true that the human colon is relatively shorter compared to some herbivorous animals, humans do have the ability to ferment dietary fiber in the colon with the help of their gut microbiota. This fermentation process provides energy and nutrients to the body.

@@mgacy2957 The pH of the human stomach does vary, but it typically ranges from 1.5 to 3.5 during digestion. The stomach's acidic environment helps break down proteins and kill harmful bacteria, facilitating digestion. I'm not sure what point you're trying to make here tbh?

I just wanted to tell you about August Dunning, a carnivore diet advocate and a former NASA Space Station scientist. They used dry fasting to heal radiation damage, and he started applying it to his life for annual cleanses. He wrote a book about it called "The Phoenix Protocol", a good short read about what happens in the body during the dry fast and how to perform it safely. He also has a small KZbin channel dedicated to the subject under his name "August Dunning." The research shows dry fasting is far superior to water fasting because the body uses fat for both energy and water in that state so it burns it up even faster than regular ketosis. After 3 days your body starts producing stem cells, the idea to make this short is that most people can cure health conditions in a 7 day dry fast, and the very serious conditions with an 11 day dry fast. I really belief that he would make a fantastic guest on your channel and getting this information out could help desperate people with vaccine injuries or just health problems that doctors only want to give a prescription for. This could be the greatest well kept secret ever if his claims are true. Cure yourself doing nothing for a week for free! I doubt you will have trouble contacting him, he has answered my KZbin questions in the comment section on recent videos within a day. I guess that is the benefit (for his followers) that his channel isn't big yet, he has time to read and respond to comments/questions. I'm 66 hours into the dry fast. I'm supposed to die if I go for 6 more hours, according to what we are told😂. I intend to break fast at 180 hours. I already see my rashes from my autoimmune issues improving, less inflamed and drying up. I was doing carnivore diet before this and will be returning to it when I finish the fast.

Dr Jason Fung has a similar attitude about planned "cheat meals" like birthdays, Christmas etc. He doesn't call them cheat meals. He uses a positive term like feast or celebration or something and talks about how to incorporate them into your life in a positive way. If you know you are going to have pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving or birthday cake, you know you aren't denying yourself for life, it takes the pressure off eating it at other times. You may even choose not to have the pie at a particular Thanksgiving knowing maybe you will enjoy it at the next one. Living in a state of denial, unless medically critical like a peanut allergy, makes life long. We are supposed to get enjoyment from life. Full disclosure I am like Dr Schindler a "cheat" sends me off the rails for a few days because I say what the heck. Constantly working on that.
