Good for you. I really reaallyy mean it. As an artist, I have always needed space and nowadays its a scarce resource. I've always lived in very small spaces with my family and by myself and when I started my career it got more difficult as time went by. First I only worked on small stuff and with fast drying materials (as a child) and then I got into oil painting, but I could only paint at school (which after a year or two shut down the art classroom and always had limited capacity). Then I got into art school and I left all my materials there ( one of my pieces disappeared and there was always a chance of getting stolen bc lots of people, not only students, roamed freely) but almost never brought stuff home. While working on my thesis, the "studio"/workshop room/whatevs my class had assigned at my uni informed me there was no room for older students, so I remember I took my 1,5x1,5m canvases to my grandma's house so I could paint there. I transported everything either public transport or pickup trucks & whatnot, it took so much time and effort. I was so thankful to my grandma and I was very happy to se her, but I lost a lot of time getting to her house, which was far away of everything (my workplace, uni aand home), and I remember I cooked for them and spent time with them (which i dont regret but cut off a little bit my working hours). Then came the time of my lifef in which i decided i just wanted to work and live in the same roof and in peace, so I worked more (as an english teacher) and could finally rent a room in which I could sleep and paint. My point is, nothing compares to having your workplace as you wish therefor creating and producing as much as you wish without having space limits. One needs to storage, to move around while working and also having a distance to see ur work from the distance . I have been enormously happier having my workplace with all my stuff in one place, organized by me and having the chance to paint my 1,5x1,5 meter and 1,5 x 4 paintings. I long for expansion iin my artwork and as I have worked in bigger sizes, I have too became bigger. I thinnk thisll be so good for you in so many ways, you'll grow out of your physical and mental body and so turn into a better, stronger Kaya. idk if you get my point I now live in a small apt that has it's organization in function of what i love: creating, developing, enhancing, etc. its so much fun, enjoy it! i hope ur happy as i am. Some of my artwork is on ig @valespav

Honestly, I started watching your bf's videos first then saw you and watch your videos more than him. You still have a huge fan base, I see the hurtful comments people say and it would make anyone with ADHD feel down, I suffer from it as well, and it's not the "hyper kind" its the kind where you can't sleep at night because you think a 100 things at once and can't focus on one. I think you should run with the hate, maybe even make a funny video with sad music crying scene looking at the comments and then laughing with your middle finger. It's okay if you feel terrible inside, cry and keep going girl let that shit out and then have a big whiteboard, write everything you want to do and accomplish, get that planner book, get that special apple timer so you can do every goal 20 min at a time and not get distracted. I like you, I believe in you and I watch you more because I relate to you in many ways or in some way I think I do.

Yes tape would make it easier to do, wish I could be there I'm great with taping drywall, you are going to want to also prime it when you are done taping and sanding. So the wall doesn't soak up all your paint and the colors come out the shade you want them to. Good luck with your new space and have loads of fun decorating.

Wow- I have the same stuff on my door that you put in the window. For whatever reason, my partner decided he needed clear glass front door- he want to see who who is out there. He forgot they can see us. I HATED having to put on pants or hair just to check the door. I bought that rainbow cling & I ADORE it! Pretty rainbows!! when I got it up he said “hmmm, this is cool, privacy” Hell yeah privacy is cool!!! I cant wait to see your space once it is finished. I would give my left arm, figuratively, to have the space to set up my studio for my Etsy resin art & filming. I am very jealous you have something like this. We dont have anything like this in Minnesota. You are blessed!

@frostfang14 жыл бұрын
I'm excited for you. I have definitely experienced the difficulties you had with having to get everything out and then put it back just to be creative. I ended up getting a 9 cubical shelf for my art stuff that helped a toooonnn, and then one of those "picnic" foldy tables that I put next to my basic desk, to extend the usable area. The wooden desk side was all computer stuff and practical desk things, the keyboard, the bamboo tablet for the computer. And now I have all my watercolor palettes left out, my colored pencils in little metal bins as well as my brushes, cups for water, a big bright light that I can move, spray bottle, cutting mat, a spot for my lil cheap backlight for tracing. A spot to keep my sketchbooks and different types of paper. It just ended up being exactly what I wanted and so easy to move from one thing to another. Theres still a lot more organizational stuff I need, and need to do. But the space saving has been such a relief. I've done a lot more painting and drawing than I did before. I even started making a tree out of cardboard and air dry clay.

I'm so glad you're going to have a proper work space! I hope it will inspire many a glorious project!!! I think you should definitely do progress videos IF they won't get in the way of your progress. Also don't be intimidated by oil paints- you'll love the difference in color as you'll actually be painting with the pigment, there so much more control over thickness, texture! The place people mess up is getting stuck too close and over blending and stepping back to see they've blender a muddy mess. But im sure you'll love it. I personally hate gouache, I only had to use it for a semester back in art school. I know illustrators who can work wonders with it. But it is fussy available hell. If it dries, and you get it wet again...where it's wet again will b6a different color (different value of that color, but it will never match again! So, have fun with that. I do hope the studio works well for you and most i hope it inspires you on those hard days to get dressed and to go out and to your studio. Please be patient with trying to find the medication for you now that you finally have a diagnosis. It's taken me over a decade of trying different meds, and understanding that time, I know it frustrating, but try to be patient, work with your Doctor, don't give up on the possibility of feeling better. I wish you the best deary. Have a good week and best wishes to your swan friend.🖤

Yes! Studio decorating updates. And we do call that drywall in the US. To cover up those cracks in between I think you are going to need a special kind of mesh tape and what they call a skim coat of plaster. Talk to your hardware store person to make sure.

I love your layout! I just want to give you a lil advice if that's okay. I'm chemically sensitive and I know that anyone who has health issues can benefit from my findings. When it comes to your paint be very careful and look for safer choices, and if you can't bring an air purifier into the room. Save yourself from some of the toxic fumes by, of course, airing out your space as much as you can and getting someone to help you get the paint job done quickly. A painters mask can be found at your local Walmart. Love this new space! I'm so excited for you
