Well said. By the way, the Autobot shown at 7:43 is technically Grimlock. Believe it or not, the most famous Dinobot identity of all was given to a green backhoe in 2001. Meanwhile, Landfill is the Build Team combiner formed from Grimlock, Heavy Load, Hightower, and Wedge.

I remember watching your trash pack videos with my wife and son. My son is now 12 but we still have a huge trashie collection. We’ve moved on to other figures but the trash pack will forever live in my house. Time goes by so fast. It’s awesome to see you and your son collecting toys. It’s actually very emotional Lol.

That outfit seen at 2:33 is zany enough to warrant an action figure. Given that Boba Fett toys are expensive due to abundant paint applications, depicting John's costume in plastic would break the bank.

The name of the gijoe you buy is Copperhead from 1989 Python Patrol. The problem is, only the half body the other half belongs to 1990 Metal Head. Somebody mixed the parts. How much did it cost?
@KintounKal2 жыл бұрын
Good eye. I wonder if this custom was intentionally created with a new codename in mind. 1989's Transformers toyline introduced a small Autobot Pretender named Doubleheader. That might be a suitable identity for this Copperhead/Metal Head amalgamation.
@Gravity999.2 жыл бұрын
Really enjoyed watching your son tag along in the video this time, thank you for the countless amazing videos
@Pegwarmers2 жыл бұрын
So, the GI Joe figure you held up was Python Copperhead (with Metal Head's legs). As a kid you probably got Python Trooper who has a green and yellow shirt and black helmet and mask. The Trooper was a repaint of the Cobra Blue Shirts. They have a similar color scheme.
@KintounKal2 жыл бұрын
Python Copperhead was first available carded in 1989 along with the rest of Python Patrol. I believe Keel-Haul is the only G.I. Joe action figure officially associated with a restaurant. Coincidentally, he's the admiral initially sold with the U.S.S. Flagg aircraft carrier in 1985. According to the Yo Joe! G.I. Joe Database, "Left-over bagged Keel-Haul figures were eventually released through some strange channels and ended up as prizes at Chuck E. Cheese pizza/arcades and carnivals around the country as "Skeeball" prizes in 1993." Pixel Dan could be right about Python Copperhead being released at ShowBiz Pizza Place but I'm unaware of evidence suggesting that.
@scockery2 жыл бұрын
I think it was more than just Keel-Haul. Hasbro bagged overstock figures appeared in places, like conventions back when they were 99% 12 collector oriented. It not well documented. Heck, I found bagged Cloudburst figures in the mid 1990's at a close-out store.
@KintounKal2 жыл бұрын
@@scockery That's very interesting. Cloudburst was first released carded with a glider in 1991 so perhaps Python Copperhead was bagged at some point as well. Of course, it's important to remember the original Copperhead was available mail-order from Hasbro Direct as part of a six figure vehicle drivers set that included HISS Driver, Stinger Driver, Crankcase, Frostbite, and Thunder in 1987. It's more likely 1984 Copperhead was a prize at Chuck E. Cheese than the Python iteration. As I recall, Pixel Dan once left a comment on a RetroBlasting video titled 'G.I. Joe Special Feature: Sticking the Landing - Cobra Convergence IV' released on July 9th, 2019. I just browsed through 154 comments and I can't find it for some reason. Assuming my memory is correct and Pixel Dan was amused watching that argument between Cobra Commander & Destro, it ends with Copperhead's Python Patrol uniform getting ridiculed. That might be another reason this action figure left an impression on him.
@scockery2 жыл бұрын
@@KintounKal Hasbro Canada in the late 90's sold a lot of bagged overstock for super cheap, people who contacted them really made out. IIRC, they had figures never released in bagged form in any known offers, too. It was a long time, though. Yojoe shows that Python Officer was a convention release in a bag with different weapons, too. There were a few such releases, not sure all are documented. Hasbro probably didn't keep any records of nonstandard releases.

Does anyone else remember the birthday story told in a video titled 'TOY HUNTING with Pixel Dan at The Lost Toys in Dallas!' released on October 9th, 2018? It involved Pixel Dan being given a Shish Kebab Beetlejuice action figure only to have his dad return it because he didn't feel the character was appropriate for kids. Pixel Dan mentioned that incident contributed to his interest in Kenner Aliens & Predator. I notice Spencer's Venom big fig shown at 1:29 is clearly the Sony version. In other words, it's a character starring in two PG-13 movies while Beetlejuice was merely labelled PG. The weird phenomenon continues. I think Pixel Dan is making the better parenting choice letting Spencer own this bootleg Lego Venom.

The Transformer labeled “Landfill” is actually Transformers Car Robots (Robots in Disguise outside Japan) is Grimlock, he combines with three others to form Landfill. Nothing wrong with your book, other than it kind of big, but I prefer the mini comics book. I only wish the rest of the Classics mini comics could have been in there. Nostalgia IS a powerful drug, and we’re all addicted to it. Pomp and Circumstance at the end, a.k.a. Randy “Macho Man” Savage music at the end.
