Fun fact: Andy’s father is named Andy Sr. also the reason in toy story 3 woody believes he can be with Andy forever is cuz he used to be owned by Andy Sr. And when Andy Sr. Had cancer he passed the toy down to his son Andy (aka Andy Jr.) more proof is seen in the beginning of toy story, if you look at the photos in the beginning of the movie you see multiple photos of Andy but with glasses these photos could be of, Andy’s father but younger, it would make a lot of sense tho it’s a combination of the “Andy’s Father” and “Woody was owned by Andy’s Dad” also I didn’t make the theory I found it on the internet lol

You forgot the theory of Andy's Mom had multiple children with different men. Throughout the movie all the none major boy characters look exactly like Andy. Of course this is Bulls#^*: because the simple answer is the animators got lazy and thought nobody would notice or care about the other human characters. After all the only human characters we see and care are Andy, Molly, Sid, and Sid's sister. Another possible theory is Sid had an abusive father. Which would explain Sid's destructive tendencies to toys.

To be fair that wasn’t animators being lazy. It was restrictions of the technology at the time. It was the first completely computer animated feature film after all. In many ways technology was further developed through the making of the film, but it also did push the machines to their very limit, like I believe it took multiple computers to even store what was made of the film in its incomplete state. So they really had to cut corners where every they could.

According to super Carlin brothers they have a chat with one of the creators of toy story and Woody is actually a one of a kind doll that was originally owned by Andy senior who died of polio and was actually in the original toy story in a photo on the wall when woddy is sliding down the railing you can see a picture of a boy that you might mistake for Andy but it’s really Andy senior Just look up super Carlin Bros Andy‘s dad

Well, in the "Toy Personalities" theory, I think the toys in Sid's room do follow. You said that in the theory that they adopt the personalities that the owner has for them, not of the owner themselves. What if Sid saw his own toys as victims for his own sadistic entertainment? They likely adopted that personality of frightened and emphatic victims because that's who Sid chooses to torture

I was thinking that Woody was a favorite toy of Andy's dad before it was Andy. But there were actually pictures of Andy's dad in some of the older movies. And based on his attire, he appears to have what looks like a white collar job. My theory was that he works an out of state job in some big city where he still supports his family from a distance. That's another reason to explain why he doesn't appear in the movies and why Andy is attached to Buzz and Woody too, not just a hard divorce. It could also explain how their family seems to be quite wealthy by the looks of it.

I despised Toy Story 4 for how it perfectly positioned itself to answer ALL of these greater questions, then outright refused to do so. And I will ONLY accept the existence of a Toy Story 5 if it brings back Sid as an adult for real. The garbageman theory is actually pretty close to how I think they should do it: Reveal that Sid did a complete 180 and now salvages, repairs, collects and resells toys as a hobby and/or side gig, and over the years has convinced himself that his traumatic experience at the end of the first movie was a nightmare... Until Woody ends up on his operating table, it all comes flooding back to him and he has a panic attack. They could not only give Sid a second run as the villain that way, but also make him one of their most sympathetic (or at least understood) villains yet. Remember that scene in the first Chucky movie where the mother, after finding out that the Good Guy doll has been working without its batteries, and threatens Chucky to talk or she'll throw him into the fireplace? They could do that with Woody once again on Sid's grill.

Here's my theory: Andy knows that the toys are alive. On Toy Story 2 Andy had Woody and Buzz best friends when he was playing with them. They really are best friends. Andy also had Woody and Bo Peep as a couple. And they really are a couple. On Toy Story 3 Andy told Bonnie that she has to keep the potatoheads together because they're madly in love. Like he knows that they really are in love. When Andy leaves he said to the toys, "thanks guys" like he knew that they were helping him with everything. He even describes Woody's personality in how Woody has been on all the events of the movie.

It's like how my character of Yellow Duck (who is based on a stuffed animal I have) is a sweetheart who acts like a real duck sometimes, and is timid but heroic and brave, happy-go-lucky but intelligent, and getting along with just about everyone. And Pumpkin The Cat (though not based on a toy, but rather, a pet) is mature, intelligent and fatherly, kind-hearted, loyal and honest, but has a little bit of an anger issue (mostly stemmed from Gumball's idiocy and recklessness or Yakko's occasionally inflated ego).

Well, about the Toys Never Die theory, one could argue that they were actually onto something, they said Toys only die when they are absolutely destroyed, when a material degrades, it completely gets destroyed because they aren’t anything but dirt and dust, thus that theory still holds up.

The way you described Lotso representing what Woody would’ve become is partly correct and partly incorrect. First of all, you said “If Woody was abandoned by Lotso, ...”. Woody wasn’t abandoned by Lotso. Woody had an existential crisis when Buzz became Andy’s favorite toy when Andy received Buzz for his birthday in the first Toy Story movie. Lotso, on the other hand, was eternally angry at his former owner, Daisy, who replaced him with another Lotso plush after she accidentally lost him at a rest stop. I think you meant to say “If Woody got abandoned just like Lotso,...”. Although both Woody and Lotso felt like they haven’t been paid enough attention to, their goals were completely different. Woody’s goal was to convince Buzz and the rest of Andy’s toys to come home to Andy, even after his mom mistook them for trash since Andy left the bag holding Buzz and the other toys in the middle of the hallway to help Molly carry a donation box. Lotso’s goal was to brutalize other toys and to stop other toys from having owners since he got replaced by Daisy. Additionally, Woody considers the rest of Andy’s toys not only his friends, but also his family. Lotso does not care about any of the other toys or their feelings, especially the feelings of his henchmen. Lotso simply wants other toys to suffer and have a miserable life because he thinks it’s not fair that he got replaced and doesn’t have an owner and he felt that other toys were showing off their owners. Also, there is no point of Lotso coming home to Daisy because she has another Lotso and there’s no point of her wanting the original. In fact, Lotso didn’t want to be under any kid’s ownership after what happened to him. You are correct that both Woody and Lotso had choices of adapting to change and moving on in life and while Woody’s goal did end in success, but you said Lotso’s goal ended in a tragedy. Lotso’s goal did not end in a tragedy. What happened to Lotso at his defeat was his punishment for crossing other toys’ boundaries. Overall, both Woody and Lotso displayed mixed emotions, but their character traits and how they respond to a situation are the complete opposite. I agree with this theory being at the top of the list, I was just pointing out the flaws that you said while describing it.

My theory is that Andy's dad did an amateur photography course. He was never able to find consistent work as a photographer so in order to save face he insists on taking every photo of the family. Woody is Andy’s dad toy the reason Andy’s dad is not around is because Andy’s dad is dead the reason Woody doesn’t know about his show is because he was the prototype from contest to get woody from mailing 12 box tops of cowboy crunchies cereal and Andy’s dad Andy senior couldn’t afford to get all 12 box tops because his family was poor and but sent them in anyway explaining how he loved sheriff woody and woodsy round Up so much but couldn’t afford to get all the box tops because his family was so poor that if they can find it in their hearts to still send him a sheriff woody toy and Andy’s senior was actual sick with polo and was bullied by Al from Al’s toy barn and actually Al’s parents owned dairy farm and Andy’s senior worked on Al’s father’s dairy farm anyway when spuntik when up literally everyone was interested in space toys so cowboy crunchies decided they were gonna give every kid who mailed in one the cereal box tops a space toy and someone asked what they should do with the prototype of woody and the boss said throw it in the trash the secretary is didn’t agree with this decision and thought kids would be very upset not to get a sheriff woody toy and so she fished him out of the trash went through the mailed letters and came upon Andy’s senior letter she was touched by the letter that she mailed him woody and with letter saying to sheriff woody’s favorite deputy. Also all the photos in the house we think out of Andy our of his father Andy senior because they look identical when he was his age and anyway Andy senior locked up woody, slink dog , mr potato head in safe when his polo became bad because of how contagious the disease was and they were actually going to burned but Andy senior snuck out of the house literally crawled because he wasn’t able to walk with his polo grabbed the toys put him in safe later andy senior got better fell in love married Andy’s mom who is the girl who owned Jessie, and moved to Seattle but Andy senior sometime later got sick from Post polo syndrome where basically polo comes back and effectively much stronger and much worse effects certain parts of your body rather then your entire body anyway they move back Andy’s senior’s fathers parents house which is the house we see in og toy story that’s why when they move they don’t have lot furniture and stuff before that happened on Andy’s senior death bed he tells his son Andy jr that he has something for him he goes into his wallet pulls out and very old key and says their is safe upstairs in the attic and in the safe you will find your best friend in the whole world Andy jr takes the key goes up to the attic finds the safe but doesn’t open it but as soon as Andy jr found the safe Andy senior passed away then little while later after his dads funeral Andy jr remembers the safe up in attic and pulls out the key unlocks and that’s how Andy jr has woody

Woody was andys dads toy before he was andys . But the dad just left him in a collector's box. Once he died his mom not knowing the rarity (or caring) because it was a piece of his dad gave it to andy to have something close to him. Thats why seh got really defensive when al tried buying him

Don't say that If Andy Davis abandoned Sherriff Woody he would become like Lotso in Toy Story 4 when Bonnie abandons Sherriff Woody he doesn't turn evil but when Daisy abandons Lotso in Toy Story 3 he turns evil well that's because Sherriff Woody is Uncorruptable but Lotso is Corruptable
