I loved Electra Woman & Dyna Girl as a kid. What really stands out in my memory is my Mom's reaction to it. She watched Days of Our Lives every day, and Deidre Hall was one of the lead actors on the show. Since Days of Our Lives was a soap opera that aired every weekday, she didn't know how Ms. Hall managed to find the time to do both shows. Looking back as an adult with this in mind, I can't help but suspect that the hassle of being on two shows as the same time may have been why Electra Woman & Dyna Girl didn't return for a season two.

Electra Woman & Dyna Girl are my absolute favorite Sid & Marty Kroft TV characters. I was super disappointed when Electra Woman was replaced by Bigfoot & Wildboy in the second season. I always suspected when Deidre Hall got. got the "Days of Our Lives" role she would not return to Electra Woman. For a Saturday Morning TV show that lasted only one season it left quite an impression on fans which I think comes from how attractive the two female leads are. I had a massive crush on Deidre Hall as Electra Woman ! Something about her wearing the orange & yellow spandex costume blew my young mind ! I still have the View Master reels packet in mint condition ... the later release of the Kroft Superstar Electra Woman action figure ( I wish they would have done Dyna Girl also ) and an iron-on book (unused) which features Super Show illustrations ... one of which is Electra Woman to put on a shirt. I was totally unaware of the puzzler toy you featured & did not know about the Halloween costume either. The lunch box & game are kind of famous and knew about those . When I was a kid I had such a crush on Dyna-Girl. I wanted action figures of every character in that show as they would have fit in perfectly with all the other Mego characters. I still have the theme song on a flash drive that I burned onto a CD and listen to while driving to work. It's amazing how a show that was essentially a flash in the pan made such an impact on so many of us.

Though I loved everyone of them (except that genie one), this was definitely one of my two favorite Kroft shows (Land of the Lost being the other). I mean live action superheroes, gadgets, supervillains and with Aquaman as the boss? (And yep, we knew it was him even at that age; that distinctive voice and just look at the Superfriends art and you can see it was based on his actual face). I don't remember seeing many if any of the toys until decades later thanks to the internet. Not that that didn't stop me from trying to makeshift my own sad little versions with my many Megos. And then try with my parallel Earth male versions, Eleftroman and Dyna-lad that lasted just long enough for me to role-play (with a homemade Lego and taped armband wrist computer). An all too brief but thrilling window of memories, right along with Manta & Moray and Super-stretch & Microwoman. Thanjs for another fun trip down memory lane.

The Kroftt properties I have the most nostalgia for are The Banana Splits, Land of the Lost and Wonderbug. I was just a weeee bit too young to remember seeing Electra Woman an Dyna Girl, but Wonderbug used to come on Sunday mornings and you'd see reruns of The Banana Splits all the time, too. I also have vague memories of The Great Space Coaster, which featured similar looking puppets to what Kroftt used, but turns out it wasn't them that were behind it. These are some cool items, though, like always.

I believe Judy Strangis had a connection to the classic 1960s Batman tv series. i believe her dad or dad was a producer she often played an extra as a hippie girl in several episodes. I remember Deidre Hall from the 1980s tv series OurHouse.

Dyna Girl did... things... to little 9 year old me (still does!) I could have sworn the show within a show had lasted longer than one season. Land of the Lost was by far my favorite Krofft show due to the subject matter. I've since gone back and watched them again and the 1st season had quite a trippy sci-fi bent. I enjoyed it all over again.

Another one season only Sid and Marty Krofft show I remember was Far Out Space Nuts with Bob Denver (aka Gilligan) who is accidentally launched into space in an Apollo rocket by hitting the launch button and not the lunch button. Apollo 13 it wasn't. Having watched endless episodes of Gilligan's Island it threw me as a kid to see a then 40 yr old Bob Denver.

I was adicted to H.R. Pufnstuf as a kid - loved it with all my heart. I even remember going to see the first episode movie edit at a theatre - in Vegas in the 70s the PTA would do a summer matinee movie thing showing all sorts of kid-friendly movies + Woody Woodpecker cartoons, probably to give moms a break from their kids. As an adult I gravitate towards Land of the Lost, which has a deceptively awesome sci-fi premise. A pocket dimension of primordial monsters, controlled by crystals, visited by aliens, housing the remnants of an advanced dinosaur civilization that exists in a continual loop of rise and fall. Excellent stuff.

Anything Kroft made always got me as a kid! I am curious, is anyone aware of any articles or stories on the design of Spider Lady and Marvel's Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew)? I'm wondering who influenced the other. Marvel's Spider-Woman came out in 1977, a year after EW & DG. And she was created solely to protect the licensing for Marvel. The similarities in the costume designs between the two shocked me. I have to imagine this has been noticed before.

OK, Brian, you KNOW I'm a MAJOR Krofft fan! EW & DG in my opinion just don't get enough love some THANK YOU for doing this! I do have the lunchbox (sans thermos) & the View-Master reels. My 2 fave villains are The Pharaoh and The Empress Of Evil. I have eps on VHS. As a kid, I almost got the EW costume, but passed on it in favor of The Bionic Woman. But watching the show as a kid, I pieced together my own costume from household odds and ends, including a homemade "Electra-Comp". A bit of trivia for you: Did you know that for a while a condensed version of The Lost Saucer was also included on the Krofft Supershow as the last feature? Very briefly it was 2 hours, but I think it was cut after the 3rd of 4th installment to 90 mins. I thought about making some custom figures of these lovelies, but just never got around to it. Anyway...THANKS for showing this series some LOVE! Electra WOW!💥💫

Was fascinated by the Kroft stuff as a kid. It was so imaginative and, to a 10 year old, could be really creepy. Rewatching episodes, I'm impressed with how much effort and imagination the Krofts put into shows with a budget of about a hundred bucks per episode. So annoyed we never got more merchandise. I'd want action figures of everybody. My favorite was Bigfoot and Wild boy, but I'd definitely put EW+DG in my top three.

Shocked there was two reboots, perhaps the show wasn't great but Markie Post in spandex "hubba hubba".❤Yeah even in the past with superheroes, more cynical & more dark for some reason, took a couple reboots to get a movie Spiderman that wasn't on the verge of suicide heh.😄 Before my time but totally understand the appeal of Krofft TV shows, just wild inventive imagination produced on a budget lol. My top 3 Krofft shows would be Land of the Lost, Electra Woman and Dyna Girl, and Doctor Shrinker. All of my Krofft shows exposure came from them running in syndication on Sunday mornings in the late 70s or early 80s but I'm pretty sure I saw Bigfoot and Wild Boy when it first aired on Saturday mornings. I have no memory of Magic Mongo even after watching it opening. Seems like that's for the best!

At their best the S&MK shows made me forget that they weren't animated (high praise from 10 year old me). As an aside, a friend of mine referred to Electra Woman and Dyna Girl as " the first cartoon written specifically for gay kids." Was it really that "fabulous?" I can't remember.

I swear, I used to try and explain to my friends that I remembered a cartoon version of Laverne and Shirley where they somehow both got one half of a super suit, ala The Greatest American Hero, and I always thought I was dreaming it. Turns out that not only was it a thing (for one episode), but they were ALSO in the army on the show. I love the 80's dearly, especially the cartoons, but holy crap did they make some whacked out stuff.

Electra Woman and Dyna Girl is my favorite of all the Krofft shows! I'm so bummed it only lasted one season. But those guys at Living Toyz... what boneheads! How do you make an Electra Woman action figure but not a Dyna Girl one!

@@brotherkellymatthewbarnes8882 If I remember right, Schlepcar becomes Wonderbug when they put the magic horn on it. I guess it's a car super hero, like if Superman was a car. Schlepcar is like Clark Kent and Wonderbug is like Superman. But, as Schlepcar, it doesn't have any powers, so it's more like Diana Prince and Wonder Woman.
