Great post. Couple more mentions. Judy Strangis was also the pitchwoman for Plymouth cars, especially the Duster, Volare and Road Runner as “Mean Mary Jean” from 1974 to 1976. In her football jersey and shorts she was every guys idea of a fun “girl” (forgive the sexism). She then pitched Barbie in 1976 and did a great job there. My thoughts of her are a person with star quality. She always stood out in the “Room 222” episodes and she’s one of those people who you say “the camera loves her”. Thanks for this, you made me think of a fun time in my life.

Beautiful woman. Born December 23, 1949. A fantasy of mine! She is married. I would be proud to be seen with her! I recall she was in the first Batman TV show with the Riddler as a screaming girl. Her sister Cindy Malone was in an episode when the Penguin ran for Mayor. Karen Valentine was born in 1947 only two years older. I like her also. She was in a segment of Love American Style dealing with Love and The Mind Reader. Was on at least one Barnaby Jones episode.

I'd forgotten she was Mean Mary Jean, our "Chrysler Plymouth girl." In grade-school, I had red/blue shorts & matching football-style cotton jersey I wore constantly w/long pigtails under my "Mean Mary Jean" hat: a shiny white woven straw beanie surrounded in big blue & red felt stars. i wore that goofy hat everywhere! I watched "Room 222" & "EW & DG" as a child, but Judy's car commercial role w/it's catchy jingle had a more immediate impact on my young psyche. Insidious marketing? Indeed. But, goodness, what a cutie she was! Glad no tragic ending here, as is so often w/these "whatever happened to" vids.

Electra Woman & Dyna Girl was only 16 episodes? It seemed like a lot more. Me & my friend used to run around our neighborhood in Tumwater, WA pretending to be the boy versions of Electra Woman & Dyna Girl. We used Hot Wheels segments strapped to our wrists with belts or string for the Electra gadgets. I always remembered the show but over the years forgot the character names. Then one day I was watching Reba McEntire's show Reba. Barbara Jean kept trying to convince Reba to join her on some hair-brained adventure. Her selling point was they would be like Electra Woman & Dyna Girl. She kept singing the theme song but substituted the names "Barbara Jean & Reba" into it. Immediately my memory of the show was restored. Now if somebody could just build a time machine...

A lot of actresses from the 60's and 70's were quietly forced out of the industry if they weren't A-list headliners in feature films or television. Soap Operas were the rare exception where an actresses's career could flourish long after her looks began to fade. Judy looks like she aged very well and if Hollywood were a bit kinder to her she might have been able to make more of an impact but from what was said here she seems to be at peace with her time in Hollywood and is most likely very happy with her current life and I do wish her the best in all she does. Room 222, being the youngest of five (8 yrs old), was one of the few more "grown-up" shows I was allowed to watch. Also thought the Mod Squad characters were so cool.

Me too. The Mod Squad was the epitome of cool!

Gold, Dave! Gold! I had such a huge crush on Judy. Electra Woman and Dyna Girl wasn't exactly my favourite of the Krofft Supershows, but I never missed an episode mainly because of Judy. If I could have married anyone at 7 years of age, I would have picked either Judy or Holly from Land of the Lost, HahA! I never watched Room 222 and I didn't follow Judy's career before or after EW and DG, but I'm glad she's living the quiet life away from the public eye. I hope she's happy and healthy. If she ever happens upon this vid, I'd let her know I think she's beautiful and my torch is still burning maybe just a wee bit for her. Shhh, don't tell my wife. Thanks for posting Dave!

"ELECTRA WOMAN & DYNA GIRL" was interesting, and since it was a near spoof of DC's Batman, the segment of ABC's "THE KROFFT SUPERSHOW' in Fall 1976 also had a near look and feel like the 60s Batman. in fact, some of Ralph Hickey's sound effects were also used this Sid & Marty Krofft segment (Hickey was a sound effects man at 20th Century Fox, and was also a sound engineer on the "BATMAN" series) and, Sam Strangis, the brother of actress Judy Strangis, was the producer of "BATMAN"s third and final season (1967-68) and another interesting fact here, is that "ELECTRA WOMAN & DYNA GIRL" was created by Joe Ruby & Ken Spears, who later formed their own animation studio Ruby-Spears in 1978, which was originally a division of Filmways, but was later sold to The Taft Broadcasting Company in 1981 when Filmways went defunct (sold to Orion Pictures Corporation) and became the sister studio to Hanna-Barbera Productions, which is where Joe Ruby and Ken Spears originally got their start, where they technically created "SCOOBY-DOO, WHERE ARE YOU?" in 1969.

Great stuff, Joe! Thank you so much for sharing.

@@jdsundstrom Did you also know that Joe Ruby was also a film editor on "BATMAN", "THE TIME TUNNEL", and "LOST IN SPACE" at 20th Century Fox TV, and that both Joe Ruby & Ken Spears were executive story consults on CBS and 20th Century Fox Television's "PLANET OF THE APES" series in Fall 1974? and also, Judy Strangis' brother Greg Strangis was a producer of Paramount Television's syndicated "WAR OF THE WORLDS" in Fall 1988 that was filmed in Canada.

IMDB.com says she gave up acting and started doing voice over because of being stalked. After what happened to John Lennon and the girl on My Sister Sam, both murdered by stalkers, it is no wonder she did that.

Judy is Awesome and EW & DG is my favorite of all the Krofft shows. I also enjoyed Goldie Gold long before I knew she voiced the character, but please don't compare her to PH. I really like how Judy seemed to embrace her time as Dyna Girl and not shy away from it like some stars do. They really don't make shows like that anymore. They were magical when I was a kid.

I was well aware of mean mary jean from the plymouth commercials....then when she popped up on electra woman I was floored.imagine my surprise when I went to work at a chrysler dealer...and right there on the glass wall between the parts department and the service bays was a sticker with Judy(mean Mary) smiling widely and it clearly stating "We're #1!". Was awesome to see that.

I loved her on Electra Woman and Dyna Girl. I loved Goldie Gold and Action Jack. at the time one Team up on cartoons I always wanted to see was Goldie Gold and Richie Rich. both cartoons were on ABC and on the air about the same time in the early 80's. I mean if Scooby-Doo could have a show where he meets many celebritys from the past like Batman and Robin , Don Knotts, Adam's Family and 3 Stooges to name a few then why not team up Goldie Gold and Richie Rich. The worlds Richest Boy meeting the Worlds Richest Girl.

Great suggestion, Patrick! I would have loved to have seen that team-up as well.
