Greatings from Germany. No, the women aren't biological sisters but they have a brilliant teamwork on and of the stage. The "blond girl" (Carlotta Truman) had a cold on the stage. So she couldn't show her full voicepower. The song is about more friendship between women and less rumour speech. Thank you for your honesty and kind words 😊

The song addresses the struggle of women always competing with each other. It's supposed to remind you that instead of putting other women down, women should stick together :)

Fun story about last year's German entry: I was watching the final in a bar in Lisbon full of people from all different countries. My father had died the year before and the German song made me cry so hard. I looked up and three other people were also bawling. We ended up all hugging and talking about our dead fathers (And getting hella drunk, let's be honest) and it remains one of my favorite ESC experiences ever.

Germany was the first country which had publishing because it invented the movable printing press which in turn made books affordable. It was also one of the first countries with something along the line of mandatory schooling (mostly because our king wanted soldiers who were able to read). And yes, the acting of escaping prison is legal, but if you do something illegal while you are escaping (ie using a weapon, destruction of property aso), this will still be punished. There is just no extra-punishment for the very act of escaping. And yes, our participation record is a little bit spotty, but to be fair, sometimes we are simply underrated, too. Like the entry of Texas Lightning turned out quite an evergreen, and Dschingis Kahn is still legendary despite only making fourth place back in the day. I think the blonde one was ill...the two were specifically casted for this song so I assume that she can match the other singer when she is at her best. And I think the song is about three things at ones...it is about siblings relationships BUT it can also be read as a feminist song reminding women that they should lift each other up BUT it can also be read as song calling for more unity in a really hidden political message.

Thanks so much for this reply, we love it! Most of the facts I was finding about printing as for bibles, but I read that the 'first printed book was in Germany', but I wanted to make sure I could find what it was before using it, but I couldn't get any solid proof. We have enjoyed a lot of the German entries, and I think they have a good record for a country that has participated for so long and seen the big change that Eurovision has gone through over the years! Also, we love the message of the song. It's quite open, but overall a positive song about unity and my god is that important in the world right now! Thanks again for the discussion!

Not only that their song is great, I was very moved by these two great girls waving the Israeli flag on stage. It means a lot these days, with all the hatred and unfair ignorance toward Israel-that comes from several sources, but more than anything from ignorant brainwashing in the media, while Israel is the complete opposite of what they show you. I dont know if the girls did it because the contest will take place in Israel or because one of the girls is jewish or something else, but It was just beautiful and gives one a lot of hope in humanity! Thank you girls and good luck to germany with a truly good and original song!

This year is fully charged with political tension, and it's such a shame that a simple music competition is affected by all that. But, given the history your point is very very solid! We liked the song a lot, and positive messages about unity and female power are always welcomed by us! Thanks for your comment 😘

@@ToyAndGoy TBH I meant the general coverage of Israel in European media- which is definitely reflected in the atitude towards the competition this year. I still don't know what the song is about but I liked the unity massage between them ,the music, the directing (how they stand on stage), classy number over all. Keep up the good work!

Wow Nicole's song which won 1982 euroivision is one of the best songs of all times in Eurovision. I think the SISTER's song is not the best one of the ones who competed but because they where all generic songs it stood out because it was the last one

A shame for germany, from the big 5 , Italie sings in italian, spain in spanish , UK in english, France around 60 % in french. And germany 100 % in english. No song from the seven songs in german final was is german not even ONE WORD. A shame for such à country. Im french living at the german border. PROUD of the other 4 from the BIG 5 but shame to germany for this

None of the German song was really outstanding, so this one was winning by just a small margin, but bad, but indeed not something that is likely to win. The blond singer is vacally not as strong as the dark haired. So right now the best (kind of) German entry is coming from Frau Müller-Heidke..:-)

@andrewmay30015 жыл бұрын
Toy Goy unless "Heidke" it is not a stage name I would strongly assume a north German (or Dutch) heritage. And since not too many English speakers can pronounce a "ü" it is quite common for German emigrants to chance to change it to Miller.
