Toyota 4-Runner with Yakima OffGrid and Extension Overview

This is a fit for a 2010+ Toyota 4-Runner with factory side rails and crossbars. This medium size with extension is a perfect proportional fit the vehicle for those seeking maximum volume and length. There is no interference with the fully opened rear hatch and no overhang above the front windshield.

OEM Cross bars can support a maximum of 132 lbs. when weight is evenly distributed across both bars. If the cargo basket weighs 50 lbs., then your max weight capacity is 82 lbs right? Do you know anybody with this set-up that's run into problems with weight? It looks pretty good but I'd be worried about overloading it.

Do u have any videos showing what to do if I have my Yakima rocketbox cargo pushed all the way forward but the tailgate hits Yakima when opening the back. I’m happy to but something that raises it or forwards it or whatever u have. Or if I’m just not understanding something and need info. I drive a 2016 4runner

Unfortunately we don't have any videos that show us doing that. The reason being, modifying a cargo box not only voids Yakima's amazing warranty program, but could risk failure when driving. There have been many versions of Yakima's Rocketbox but generally they were designed to be mounted in those spots for stability and safety reasons. The more modern boxes by Thule and Yakima have better, more versatile fits then any of the Rocketboxes when it comes to hatch clearance.
