It’s not that bad at all. That funnel will make your taste a breeze. (50k is a good number, when you consider that they say you can go 100k on it)

Great video!! This is on my list for this winter, along with new hoses. Does the engine block drain break open fairly easily?
@VikingsGarage2 ай бұрын
Unfortunately they usually do not . Best way is to put the 14 mm on the actual drain to hold it in place and then with a very long extension use the 10 mm to open it up. Otherwise they have a tendency of spinning together.

Loving this channel - great camera work as well. Links are also very much appreciated although the rubber hose link is dead - don't you love Ebay Paulo lol
@VikingsGarage2 ай бұрын
I’ll look into the link for the rubber hose, I’ve had problems with eBay links in the past. 🤷🏼♂️ Both are great !! 💪🏻

Great Channel! I do NOT like COOLANT FLUSHING ADDITIVES as they are acidic and can cause more problems than not. Instead, I flush the system like Viking but I do it every 24 months. Overkill? Yuup, but I never have issues. IMO, FRESH FLUIDS equals better reliability, less headaches and less costly repairs.
@VikingsGarage2 ай бұрын
💯👏🏻👏🏻 I’ve seen flush additives cause premature seal failure. (As in either thermostat or water pump seals) Not good!

Never knew about the drain on the block. Thank you! Is there a way to do it with toyota techstream TIS?
@VikingsGarageАй бұрын
No Techstream, just as shown. 👍🏻

Great video 👍🙏👏🇨🇦🇺🇸 Question, maybe you already shared on another video, are Toyota OEM synthetic oil which can be bought through Toyota parts counter completely different formula than Mobil 1? I heard or read somewhere that the moly counts are significantly higher on OEM thus it will be a lot more slicker and more protection? The OEM oil are a lot pricey. Thank you 🙏
@VikingsGarage2 ай бұрын
It is a different formula indeed!! Mobil 1 is an excellent choice 💪🏻 I’ve used Mobil 1 in the past, although thanks to the oil Geek, I’ve been using Penzoil Platinum. 😉 Thank you for your support as always!!

Does your 4Runner have drains on both sides of the block like the Tundra?

No Sir, only on the passenger side of the block.

There is not a coolant drain cock for the block on the driver's side? I have a 1GR engine in my 05 Tacoma Prerunner and it has a collant drain cock on both sides. For the access for the driver's side, I act ually remove t he tire and t he inner fenderwell cover. Great video! I really great ful for DYI video's.

If this process was done with the engine warm would that not drain the block as well? Meaning if the thermostat was open would that not allow the block to drain? Understandably cautious to the risk of hot fluid.
@VikingsGarage2 ай бұрын
When opening the drain plug on the radiator the engine block will not be drained regardless of the temperature. Please do not perform this on an hot engine.

What is your knowledge about Toyota red undiluted vs. the sll pink prediluted? Thank you.
@VikingsGarageАй бұрын
They are different in composition, the red is not built for the seals in the cooling system of the newer vehicles + plus the pink as lubricant properties the red doesn’t have.
@efil4kizumАй бұрын
Is the pink sll Ok to use in older toyota cooling systems? By older I mean 20+ years

same hose diameter for both?

As long as you use a little silicone to help it slide in, it should work. Tight squeeze but with grease it will slide in. 👍🏻

Question for you. Is draining a battery and recharging it bad for the overall health of a battery? Neighbor has a 67 Pontiac GTO. He is working on the interior and never disconnects the battery. The door lights drain the battery. Now he is having issues with the battery. I tried telling him you have drained and recharged the battery 5 times in 2 weeks. I had to jump start him yesterday.
@VikingsGarageАй бұрын
It is bad for the battery’s health. It’s better to put it in a slow trickle charge.

Where is the engine block drain plug on a 2GR-FKS??
@VikingsGarage2 ай бұрын
It is towards the firewall, back of the engine. Same exact location . (Although 2gr-fks is oriented sideways)

Safety 1st.... double check pressure by squeezing the top rad hose and evaluate temperature of that hose cold warm if HOT and hose is Rock Hard DONT TOUCH THAT CAP until after cool down period
