For a basic alignment this measurement is sufficient for a short time, but the only correct procedure is then to adjust the axle geometry.

Great help for the DIY mechanic, I'm not gonna bother about counting the turns, I'll just take it straight away to get tracked, or does that matter? Enjoying the channel 👍

Shouldn’t matter as long as you snug up the lock nut after cracking it and just screw it up to that and lock the lock nut and get tracked.

What is the purpose of of loosening the nut in the middle and then getting it back snug in?

Hey, the nut locks the tie rod end in place, when it’s cracked open it releases the tie rod, and by turning the lock nut snug into the old tie rod it keeps the nut roughly in the correct position the new tie rod needs to position, and then tighten it up

They was squeaky noises when turning the wheel.

@@cardiyrepair👍, I had to do an inner tie rod on mine at 88k. Was scratching my head as to why.
