Not necessarily because you won't crash at the top speed you're traveling, your car will slow down before impact whether breaking or hitting a ditch or whatever. If you're traveling at 60mph you'll likely crash at 20-40mph. 100 mph, crash at 70 mph.

During Covid times I was in a 2019 Camry SE headed home from work. I was rear ended by a drunk driver in a new Acura MDX doing 88mph on a 40mph zone. I was doing about 32 mph due to to heavy traffic. I lived with 4 herniated discs. My car was by sold by my insurance to Toyota and sent to Japan for investigation and found the 2/3 steel beam stopped the Acura and saved my life. The cabin wasnt punctured. I Highly recommend this generation, they are safe. Florida Palm beach sheriffs office called me and told me to come retrieve my dash cam. When I arrived an officer showed me my dash cam footage and the person in the Acura and told me I should be a pancake and that he would be buying his children a 2018+ Camry. Don’t mean to sound like a fanboy but the car saved my life.

I know there'll be lots of people who'd say a head on collision of two cars each at 60 mph is equal to a collision against a wall at 120 mph. But this is wrong! The only case that what has been said is correct is if the wall is non-collapsible. If the wall is collapsible, a 60 mph impact can equal to a head-on collision with another car with the same weight anywhere between 0 to 120 mph depending on how collapsible the wall is and how what the mass of the wall is. e.g. an impact with a very collapsible light weight wall can have a damage much less than a 60 mph head on collision with another equal car.

So you are saying that if I'm running at 180 km/h and I hit a car going 180km/h I wouldn't be injured. You are wrong. The force would not be canceled at all. You don't take in account the weight of the passengers and the weight of each car. Even then is your logic flawed.

@ericteng3053 3 ай бұрын
@@Timo-Epis Please re-read what I have written, and re-re-read if you're not convinced. Where did I say the forces are canceled? In your scenario, your change in momentum is 180 X W (your weight) X 2(due to the reverse in direction of motion) = 360W. Ouch!!

I don’t usually see many walls built across a street. Now if you’re talking head on collision, then you have to include the other vehicles speed as well. So if you do a100kmh and the other guy does the same it’s an impact is 200 kmh

You are very wrong. Hitting a concrete wall at 200 km/hr is worse than two cars closing at 400 km/hr. Most people die when the car hits an embankment, rock outcrop, or tree. Deaths from head on collisions are somewhat rare and make the news.
@e.a.p3174
@e.a.p3174 Жыл бұрын
@@user-tb7rn1il3q I wouldn’t know for sure, since I never had a head on collision. I also never seen anyone hitting a concrete wall, but I knew people who were driving drunk and hit a tree, and the tree won.

Yes but the forces two cars going at 200km hitting head on cancel eachother out resulting in no real trauma. Simple physics. Though if one is going at e.g. 180km its equivalent to being hit by a car doing 20km due to differential with oncoming car. Hope that makes sense. My dad is a mechanic

Appears at 93mph/ 150Km you would be killed sitting in the front seats. Survival changes are better at slow speeds. No demo on maximum Camry V6 speed of 134mph. Like to see the front impact followed by a semi-tractor trailer (Rigg) with a full load smashing into the rear end of the Camry once it hits the wall. Does the Camry remain intact or disappear into the wall or becomes part of the Rigg.
