FWD is closer to BHP=WHP than RWD. FWD doesn't have to transfer power as far so less power is lost. RWD loses power down the driveshaft. 225bhp on FWD may actually break 200whp and change, you'd be likely be lucky to see 200whp on a RWD.

It kinda does when you put it to perspective. The vvti engine is balanced and pretty reliable when it comes to handling a turbo. You don't want a car with more power than balance. Kids today don't know any better

On throttle compressor surge at the start of that pull. Need to back off the boost at the start there. Used to happen to my turbo na/t build when I had too much boost duty and too little throttle input

Not op, but normally in order to run such engine on such boost you would definitely need intercooler, rad upgrade, cold air intake,pistons,injectors,oil and fuel pumps and maybe cranks? Because i guess this one makes about 280 to 320 crank horsepower and that much hp on an engine that has a 225 stock max, so you gotta basically beef it up as much as you can so it doesnt blow up cause if it does its gonna be a real pain

Not very hard to do but its not a direct swap. In my opinion, if youre going to go that deep into her youd be better off just going with a full blown 2zzge 6speed swap or just sells yours and buy a 5speed GT.

Hi! I'm sorry to tell you but it sounds like you have waaaay too much boost at around 4500-5500 rpm! Did you change your wastegate? The engine cant enrich your air-fuel mixture with enough fuel with that much boost on lower rpm. You can hear that clearly. But it runs really well after around that 5500 rpm, which is normal. But try to lower your boost a little bit. You will get a little bit less torgue but overall your engine will run smoother and will probably live for a longer time. Nice Car anyway!! :)

What are you talking about? The car is TOO rich. The AFR gauge is RIGHT THERE. Its literally compressor surge its too much boost causing the compressor to go out of efficiency causing it to "surge" and having TOO MUCH fuel, not too little because the compressor and move the air requested and the fuel is too much as a result.

Whats the point in this? like not being mean its a sick turbo build but why the 1zz? with a turbo it looks like it climbs to 200kmph as fast as my 2zz celica with breather/exhaust mods. wouldnt it be more worth turboing the 2zz?

because 1ZZs by themselves are vastly cheaper to get a hold of, not really that big of a deal if it pops. also, 1ZZ forged internals aren't as expensive. with and without boost it's a much more streetable engine that doesn't need to be flogged to get something out of it.

Not to mention, if you already have a 1zz equipped car, it'd cost far more to swap in a 2zz or purchase a 2zz equipped car and then throw more money into it for a turbo.. Right now, I'm considering a turbo on my 1zz, because I can get more HP for roughly what it'd cost to swap in a 2zz, and as stated by others I can replace my 1zz if it blows, easier and cheaper... I'm not going to lie and say I won't be swapping in a 6spd from the GTS when I do my clutch here shortly..
