1. Lift can still work with sheared off "lift bolts", it all depends on cam rocker shaft being aligned properly - you have to check them on prefacelift models just to be sure. 2. There is no such thing as "Stretched out" parking brake line, it either broke / rusted out or needs adjustment / new pads. 3. If you are getting new sunroof, get the glass one (facelift) - seems to rust a lot slower + wont fade. Best of luck with this one, mine was pretty messed up at first too (2001 VVTi-190) and now it shines!

I actually bought mine when this video was uploaded, it's a 2000 with 190k miles lmao. I got lucky it's in pretty good condition, only problems are sunroof, A/C went out, and a slight oil leak. Also, I have that same grinding sound when downshifting to fourth.

@@OPgamer123 about 7 grand. Only cuz the mileage was 90K and was in super mint condition. Bought it at a dealership. Only 1 owner had it and already passed state and emissions testing. So it was too good of a deal to pass. They wer getting alot of calls on the car so if I didn’t grab it, it woda been gone the next time I came. Other private sellers had some where the mileage was 100K-200K n had some dents and stuff. I was like forget that.

@@350z1984 that's a really nice find, congrats! I'm currently looking for a 04 Celica myself, but all I can seem to find are 00 Celica's with 200k+ mileage in bad condition, but I have to say these cars are extremely rare where I live.

You can get over 300,000 miles out a GTS if you never redline it/ and of course do all maintenance. . the GTS is the best style Celica ever. They are beautiful, I want one, but not a race car.

$500 for the lift bolt extraction lol. My local Toyota quoted me $1,200 for the fix. I'm going to shop around at other mechanics of course, but I don't expect to save much. Also my 01 GT-S has major condensation issues and need all new motor mounts. Not the ideal buy, but even finding a GT-S around here with 140K miles for about $7.5K (99% of them are sold over 200K miles for the same price) was hard to find so I wasn't going to pass it up. Not super happy about having do/pay for all that work, but it's all in pretty good shape, should be worth it once I can get it all fixed.

Mainly craigslist or Facebook market place. You can sometimes get good deals from dealers but that’s rare. But at the same time you do get some peace of mind when you buy from the dealer

So if we want to check if the lift bolts are working when we're about to buy, we rev it up to 6k and check if there is sound of cams changing position? Is the sound loud enough to be heard?
@hectorguevara5724 жыл бұрын
You won’t hear it if you just rev it but once you’re in second or third gear go high on the rpms and around 6k you’ll get almost like a boost of power and it’s gonna be a very noticeable sound.

Hey quick question if you see this, there is 2001 gt near me that has only 30k miles on it and has had one owner so far. It's at a dealership and they want about 12k. I personally have a little over half and might be considering a loan. Do you think the price is reasonable?
@hectorguevara5723 жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t personally go for. Tbh. In that case you might as well get a brz or something newer. These cars are bargains for the price when bought at a descent price. I’d say if you really wanted a Celica I’d go for a Gts manual for about 5-6k. It’s an old car but it’s worth it for the lower prices
@rushnerd Жыл бұрын
Lol, a good condition 01' that only had 30K for that price is a no brainer. Only issue is the early GT 1ZZ engines burn oil. Other than that it would have been an amazing buy. I'll be at $14K with my 142K mile GT-S when it's all sorted out and I just bought it last month.
