Toyota Celsior 2004 | UK TO PAKISTAN | PakWheels

My father Mr. Mohsin A. SHABBIR (RIP) drove from Europe to Pakistan 5 times from 1969 to 1979. He drove 3 brand new Mercedes, an ALMOST new Toyota Crown and a Silver Shadow Rolls Royce. He KEPT all cars in Pakistan by paying custom duties except for the Rolls which he drove back and sold it in the UK. He too drove with a carnae de passage. Can you imagine the trips in THAT time. He witnessed the Iranian revolution as well as the invasion of Afghanistan by the Russians. The trip would last 12 days... MA he never had an accident in these drives. What an adventure... Ma shaa Allah.

Young fellows I travelled in 1978 UK to Pakistan by Road. UK, Belgium Germany Austria Yugoslavia (then) Bulgaria Turkey Iran , Afghanistan( tourkham ). Pakistan on Datsun 1200. Pakistani passport. Very peaceful period in 08 days. 27 years age. Single driver. Good old sweet memories.

"The fan belt that was on it from Japan was in better condition then the new one we bought." 2004 company fitted part is in better condition in 2022 comparable to brand new genuine part. Only a toyota family car can ensure you this reliablity and piece of mind.

I in February March 1965 I to traveled from England to Pakistan I had purchased a Mercedes from Stuttgart in Germany and then travel all the way to Pakistan. In those days, there were hardly any travellers and the roads, particularly in need on were very bad. Since then things have improved a lot and there are many more travellers. It was and is enjoyable.

I drive 09 Honda Civc here in Canada have 350,000 kms on it. Runs fine. My mechanic says it will go another 350,000 no problem. Fine presentation indeed.

Amazing! Thank you for sharing this experience, I had a blast listening to the whole experience. Not of thos magnitude, I did a trip from Toronto to California in 3 days, in my Lexus GS350 and had a wonderful time. The car is still running mA and has 380,000km on the odometer with tonnes of life left. I enjoy driving my 2008 Lexus GS350 vs. My 2015 BMW M4.

In Iran you can not buy fuel at petrol with a card (qouta). We foreigner have to pay 5 times the official price of fuel to get it from petrol pump. Even we have to pay around 60 USD to Irani government as tax on fuel in your car when exiting Iran.

Good choice of car for a long journey, pneumatic suspension is a frill which comes to bite you in later years. If you lease a car for 3-years then get all the frills, if you plan on keeping your car for 10+ years you'd be better off with as few frills as possible e.g. soft close doors and is air suspension. I do agree that total miles driven on a car matter and ride quality deteriorates a lot but there is a catch, if the miles are highway driven then even 200k miles is nothing for these cars. My all time favorite is LS400 of year 2000, a true aristocratic luxury cruiser with the reliability of a tank. Have a safe trip brother.
