I always thought the Japanese made better cars than the Europeans. Japan has a great reputation for taste and class. They truly follow the saying that less is more in their homes, gardens, etc. A total lack of tackiness.

To buy this car, it actually requires special interview and examination from Toyota to see if you are an appropriate person to buy one.
@tariqtvproductions2 жыл бұрын
Is that true? If I wanted one built new to take home to the UK would that be possible?
@INUMIMI282 жыл бұрын
@@tariqtvproductions If you’re planning to buy it new then yes, you need to pass Toyota’s interview as well as some background checks but you can buy used one freely just like any other cars. If you want the V12 2nd gen like one in the video just hook up with JDM importers and they’ll get you one.

The Buick Century is the envy of the automotive world. After all, it was "proudly made in the USA"! Just think of the advanced technology of that car, not to mention the sophisticated styling.;)
@mely_Mel713 Жыл бұрын
The Buick century is a good car in its own world. Bulletproof 3800 V6 also supercharged on higher trims. The build quality is typical American but it's fairly reliable and comfortable to drive. The Yota century on the other hand is just pure perfection and sophistication while flying under the radar.
@acerudy58152 жыл бұрын
Toyota century is the next big jdm only Japan exclusive that will be available for import to America in 6 months frome now. the only v12 Japan car built , has alot of history and is considered a Japan legend thats not known world wide yet. Only 10k built frome 97 to 2016 so makes it a rear car also. Will skyrocket in price I reckon. Still cheap atm so get in fast.

The unfortunate thing about this car is most people would think its another cheap Toyota luxury car - and as an owner you would need to explain what its all about for them to understand its high pedigree.... all because it doesn't have a BMW or Mercedes badge.. Ironic really as it's better quality than those marques!

Century is not simple luxury car. Century is "HIGH Availability Car". Therefore, it is nonsense to compare the century with Lexus and any other cars. For instance, let's assume that ECU broke. But, the V12 engine is controlled by independent right and left ECU. In a word, it is possible to run with another side(6 cylinder) engine . So, Century means "HIGH Availability" and "HIGH Quality".
@honkwok54897 жыл бұрын
when century sold in hong kong, toyota was say either one side ecu/ engine down, the engine can still run.

Because they are thought of as imitators and not originators, which is true in a sense. Of course, by "imitating", they left the originators in the dust a long time ago, but it's very difficult to change a stereotype
@90sbuickguy842 жыл бұрын
oh I understand exactly what you mean about nobleness my 1997 jaguar XJ6L only has 41,000 miles absolutely fantastic car inside and out the only trouble with it is it would break down all the time with 41,000 original miles it left me stranded on the side of the road more than you can imagine it’s in the shop right now again because it won’t start no bonus yes no bonus for taking your money and leaving you stranded on the side of the road not to mention at 41,000 miles the weather started cracking on the driver seat poster I have a 1996 Buick Park Ave. that has 75,000 miles on it currently I want it for three years it has never broken down on me ever left me on the side of the road never and the leather seats still are in museum quality with no rips or tears in the driver seat especially as beautiful as the Jaguars are they are basket cases of a car maintaining them is expensive finding parts for them is well good luck and expensive and it only has 41,000 original miles designed to break all those luxurious European in German luxury cars are designed to break especially now this is why Alexis came in and 89 and toppled over the competition because they are luxury cars that do not break my grandmother has an 04 LS 430 plenty of power just as big as my drag just as fun to drive just as comfortable and luxurious if not more the weather is still in great shape especially on the driver seat ball strain no tears and here’s the best part it doesn’t leave you with the constant worry that it might break down on the side of the road and parts might be on obtainable and not an expensive to repair yes three eights or more a little bit more expensive to repair than the V6 is when it comes to those cars because you have eight more cylinders but they really if I have a break and I think the quality is much better on the Lexuses and the Japanese luxury cars than any European luxury car for example one day I was getting out of my Jag and I turned the headlights off and the headlight switch fell off onto the ground beside the car and this is a car that only had 41,000 miles on it it’s still not do you know why because it does not move under its own power right now because of the body control module and the immobilizer they both went kaput as beautiful as it is the reliability and craftsmanship fit and finish quality is very poor I think I’m going to sell it after I get it fixed and by Alexis because I still get sport mode I get a V-8 I still get 200+ horsepower more luxury amenities more leather everything power everything even on an 90 LS 400 with no reliability issues and the repair cost is a whole lot more lenient if it ever does break left the thing about the LS 400 specifically the early 90s model there is one Lexus LS400 from the early 90s that has over 1,000,000 miles on it original engine original transmission and you can’t do that on a Jag or BMW or Mercedes Rolls-Royce and Bentley no End the Toyota century is another one of those cars like the Lexus it doesn’t break down fit and finish quality and craftsmanship a far better because it’s a hand built vehicle that is not designed to break the suspension system on a Toyota century was designed to last 100,000 miles you can’t say that about any Bentley hydraulic suspension or on the older ones or air ride suspension in the new ones or Mercedes ABC suspension call Bentley mineral oil suspension which is the old hydraulic set up from the 90s or the new suspension they have in them all designed to break and say I’m a specially BMW dealer worlds worst and I’m not denying that they’re all those car companies make beautiful luxury cars but they’re very unreliable even the old ones now with that said back in the day Mercedes and BMW used to be very reliable especially Mercedes with that million dollar S class they made but that is no more they are all designed to break you can’t argue with a reliable luxury car whether it be a LS Lexus or Toyota Century they will last for years when the other cars will fail why do you think Alexis is still the number one best selling luxury car brand bleeding out the competition from Europe think about that for a second yes Alexis might not have the same charm and Pedegree as the European rivals Mercedes BMW Rolls-Royce Audi etc. etc. But as a trade off you get the same amount of luxury followed by unmatched readably in the luxury car segment I will admit the styling on a Lexus especially today styling but the big grills are not that great it’s not a Rolls-Royce Rolls-Royce and Bentley can have a big massive grill ask Anna Mercedes but Alexis it’s not a Rolls-Royce it’s trying to be with the massive grill so I would rather take an older Lexus so I can enjoy it and never have the constant fear of Will it start the next day will the arrow suspension fail and prevent me from driving it will it Hass to go to the repair shop for a part that you cannot obtain that is Uber expensive not with a Lexus no the Toyota Century that is a different story you get reliability with handmade everything that is pretty much exclusive to the car so when a body panel does need replacing it’s going to be difficult to find one especially in the states if you happen to import one which I want to do but that is a constant of should I really so I will end with radius of pressure pay for luxury I suppose but Lexus does it better than all of them that is just a fact they are prestigious in their own right
