Toyota Corolla Engine Air Filter Replacement 2014 - 2019

In this video I will replace the engine air filter on a 2014 Toyota Corolla. This procedure will work for model years up to 2019.
Service interval: 30,000 Miles or 36 months whichever comes first
Inspection: Inspect the Engine air filter every 15,000 miles or 6 months whichever comes first and only if driving on dirt or dusty climates, otherwise you want to replace the engine air filter every 30,000 miles or 36 months which ever comes first

I wish dealerships will just install these for free (only charge for parts). It's a good way to attract customers since no body will go in to just change the filter, and it won't make people feel like they were ripped off. Anyone with functional hands can install these in less than 30 seconds.

The aftermarket filters should be directional as well. Just look for any arrows or grooves on the edges that will fit snug into your airbox.

How does the air filter intake part on this particular model car called? I need to find the top part of this intake

The top part is the housing cover. I need to double check but I am almost certain the top filter part is part of the top cover.

Can I use non-Toyota filter or I should go oem?

After market filters are okay as long as they are of good quality. I recommend using the OEM filter and it’s what I use on my car.

If they are made by denso, they will be exactly the same. I bought a Chinese filter once and I could tell by looking at it compared to the genuine one that I would stick with oem

You can find Denso filters for around $20. Just make sure you buy the correct filter models. It won't have "Toyota" printed on it, but it's basically the same as the OEM filter.

What about the other filter in the top part of the air box cover? Does that ever get replaced?

No that doesn’t get replaced. There is no maintenance schedule for it.
