Just an update. My 24 Taco pulling a camper over hundreds of miles of washboard gravel roads is running just great. Just turned over 12000km of my Ottawa Ontario to Alaska road trip. No vibrations, no issues, tranny is awesome, mileage decent, I’m the literal happy camper. Putting this trd to a real world road test and so far so good. Going to need an oils change for sure when I get back.

Look at your Tacoma Cowl above fire wall below hood when closed, there is no rubber seal attached to the top of the plastic to absorb vibration when hood closes. The 3rd gen has a seal as do many other vehicles. Just buy some black rubber automotive weather strip with 3m tape backing and apply it and no more shaker hood. Cheap and easy fix.

There is one nitpicky thing that I have that you didn't mention. Putting a JBL (or any upscale stereo system) in a midsize truck causes you to lose behind the rear seat storage because of the subwoofer. And, as you say, "Maybe it's just me".
@RobMotiveАй бұрын
I can see that!

Tacoma earlier had 2 rear license plate lights now it has 1. Better now for me with 1, better yet if none. When you're in my line of work it's better to be on the down low.

Strange noise or whistle? Turn up the radio!

That grab handle is ridiculous! An engine cover would definitely be an improvement.

Paying so much money for such a Mickey Mouse vehicle.

Always amazing to me why people are so concerned what other's do with their money 😂

3rd gen: guage cluster scratches looking at it, no oh crap driver handle, little room in back seats. Even with all the flaws on both trucks. I hope the new gen stands up to time. It's still a great looking truck.

Evertime he says truck, I score another $1.00

Nope....only $.25! I take 75% 😂

Surprised you didn’t mention the cheapo, single use spare tire. That’s the one thing that really bugs me about my 24 TRD Off Road premium at over60 grand Canadian$. I mean hey, off road with a throw away spare, “cone on man”
@RobMotiveАй бұрын
Yup! That too😡

All good points Rob. I don’t understand how the seat is going down that’s weird. You forgot to mention the bump stops integrated into the front shocks. That’s a horrible cheap design.
@RobMotiveАй бұрын
I figured out the mysterious seat lowering issue! I don’t have any problem with the bump stops.
@troybuiltadventures5481Ай бұрын
@@RobMotive yeah you don’t have a problem with it but it’s just a cheap way of doing it

Front hood is so flimsy because fourth generation is aluminum and the third generation is steel, and other body panels have been switched to aluminum on the fourth generation as well.There’s your really getting cheap and charging more aspect.

For my pet peeve on the Gen 3. Did they finally go disk brakes in the rear On the little hole behind the mirror yeah that is tacky, how about a little step of black duct tape?
@RobMotiveАй бұрын
Yup, the brakes have been changed.
@RobMotiveАй бұрын
I was thinking black caulk for the mirror hole😂
