Obviously this was recorded before the Roof rack issue so please ignore the rack and focus on the subjects. Check legalities with roof lights as it will differ from state to state. I'm also aware that 6 lights on top is not technically legal but also does not make the vehicle dangerous in my opinion. Cheers Ronny

There is a loophole for the law i believe you can say that the extra lights are camping/utility lights. I think it can depend on how you have them switched though.

G'day Ronny, Mate you can run all those additional lights (6 on the roof) legally in a Off Road driving I checked all that out before fitting the lights to our expedition truck. I have 6 Bull Lights on the roof, 2 Bull Lights on the Bull Bar & 3 Light bars 1 Centre & 2 angled on either side. + 4 Rock lights. If you check out ADR 13-00 & IB-132C Vehicle Safety and Standards Information Bulletin (Updated August 2017) FITMENT AND USE OF ADDITIONAL AND OPTIONAL VEHICLE LIGHTS (LAMPS) Have a good one Mate, Steve.

@@djjames6576 As a taxpayer I expect cops to defect cars that blind oncoming drivers. Mainly dickheads towing boats and caravans, but a few tools with massive spotties, and lots and lots of idiots who just dont dip their highbeams. But it has nothing to do with the number of lights on your car. Its whether you shine them in peoples eyes.
@PeterKnagge3 жыл бұрын
Sorry, but vehicles with ultra bright arctic white lights and fog lights on 24/7 are pet peeves of mine. Having masses of glarey lights doesn't make you look cool, it just makes you a road hazard to other road users. I have a pair of 300w spots and a double stack of Stedi light bars (4 driving lights legal maximum) and I can't see why anyone would need any more light than that. Everyone seems to think they are so above the law and self-entitled these days. We all live in Australia and not China, so clean up your act... Everyone seems to be making the same mistake as ASPW. They claim they are "keeping it simple" yet attach 1001 "trinkets" on their vehicle to impress sponsors and viewers and turn their vehicle into an undrivable "hot mess". I've taken a lot longer than everyone to build my vehicle but it gives me time to test and to go through problems and time to educate and think what I need before adding anything else. Instead of lashing out and throwing on a whole heap of mods and having a whole heap of problems to deal at the same time. Slow and steady wins the race.

@@Malc664 I’m not talking about quality. It’s about the grey area regarding paid promotions. Honestly I don't know if you can truly show how good lights are on a video, I would at a guess imagine they look twice as good in person than what a camera picks up, must say thought camera has been setup well to show it the best possible on a video. 1) What Alternator you upgraded too I assume the 2021 Fortuner would be the same fitment and 2) All your magnetic stuff, do they manage well to stay connected in the rough off road? 3) GME plug into the dash, where can we buy that from? Great video as always. Have you tested the temperature of the lights mounted in the grill vs lights mounted on the bar? I work in lighting industry (not automobile lighting though). The biggest factor that affects the lifetime of an LED is the temperature. If they get too hot the lifetime will drop significantly. Some lights are designed to throttle if it gets too hot for the same reason. Although if they are still running lower than the rated temperature inside the grill It'll probably be fine.

I've had a pair Lightforce Striker LED's for a while now (live in the UK but also driven in Europe and done a West-East crossing of Africa) and they truly are excellent, more so in Europe and Southern Africa than in East Africa, and here's why. Having used them in East Africa, the prevailing dust in the atmosphere means that even running normal main beams without extra lights results in dazzle - it's like driving through fog at times. Therefore, if you are only travelling in East Africa or areas with prevailing dust, they may not be worth it. However, elsewhere, they transform night driving and well worth the money.

It was a pain for me to clean the dead bugs and dried slush from the lights, the sole annoying reason I had to move them out to the bumper. I have been spending plenty of time on this since the whole thing came out. Awaiting a reply from the company and am expecting things to happen next week from what I have heard. We'll see I guess but the more I look at how they present their "formula" the less I like the way they handle it. I am waiting to contact my vehicle manufacturer to see if they have a reduced roof loading for off road work and if not it appears that the manufacturer of this product arbitrarily reduces the figures to cover themselves. I get that they may want to reduce the carrying capacity of their unit off road but why do they use the roof figure rather than the rack carrying capacity for this calculation? I will also be checking if the factory supplied platform is subject to off road weight restrictions and if not I will be asking more questions. More to come on this yet I think.
