Head to Head. No pulling punches. No stone left unturned. What is the most capable, most reliable, easiest to fix, easiest to maintain, cheapest to buy, cheapest to fix, easiest to upgrade, best community for support, and what styling is better. The hard truth!

Ill got a wreck free rust free well maintained 1999 GMC Yukon & 2001 Silverado Both are Better than anything made today from Top to bottom. Plus both cabs/seating are all in super condition from sitting outside in the Hot Eastern Colorado Sun for +20yrs.

I wish more manufacturers (especially American manufacturers) added some e- lockers to their basic 4x4’s even though it’s not a “rock crawler”. It’s such a great traction aid that is totally slept on.

Hey Nick, I completely agree with you. The Land Cruiser and the Lexus version are great and stylish vehicles. There are a couple of websites dedicated to them by enthusiasts. Most of the ones around here have never seen dirt unless it’s their own driveways. Yep! The GMT800 series vehicles are easy, relatively inexpensive to repair and maintain. There is also a lot of aftermarket options for these as well. I have many of the Kryptonite parts on the front end of my 2500HD. Most definitely a better ride. Hope you and your family are having a wonderful Labor Day Weekend.

@@NickMango they are not the cheapest pieces in town. But they did make a difference along with some 5100’s.

I agree with you- I have considered a Toyota many times (and still do) but when the rubber meets the road, the price, ease of maintenance, comfort and capability of the GM/Chevy's are hard to beat. My 2010 1500 Silverado has a heavy duty rear end and is rated to tow 9600lbs?! I have a 98 2500 with a 7.4L that is a complete monster.... I think that rig you have has 4 wheel disc brakes. I had a 2004 Tahoe Z71 for a while and my wife still talks about how comfortable it was and the heated seats. The big gassers aren't cheap to drive, but they serve a purpose and last a really long time. I would love to get something with a 6.0L next or even an 8.1L.

Hear you man! And yeah the dream for me is the 8.1. Just have it in the garage for certain tasks. One day 🙏🙏 thanks 👍

Chevy is a strange mistress. I have owned a 1500 for close to 10 years now. I could not agree with you more. Funny thing is I also have a GX 470 only for the deep snow months and getting off road here in Oregon. I could write a book comparing the two and hope that I can keep them both for another 10 years.

The GX is a great car. Someone else mentioned it too. I would love one.

I agree great car. Just the capability isn’t there. And the most reliable era has a timing belt. All early 2000 Toyotas had them. They didn’t start chains till recently.

@@NickMango i totally disagree. I have owned them all through the years and after 4 gx460’s they ARE the most reliable era. Literally nothing but oil changes and batteries. Starting in 2010, and running to 2023 with damn near zero changes. Interior or exterior. The 4.6 is absolutely bulletproof.

Totally disagree with what? I agree with you they’re definitely reliable. Just not as capable as the Land Cruiser.

@@NickMango I disagree that the “most reliable era” has timing belts. I completely agree that they are not as capable as land cruiser.
