Great video. I am about to do this swap in a couple of weeks, I have almost all of the parts, not sure what to do about the exhaust, I have been told by someone who has done a bunch of swaps to just use the exhaust off of the 3.0 with an a down flow o2 sensor. Did you use the exhaust off of the 3.0 or the 3.4?

Thank you, I used the exhaust and cat from a 4runner the only mod needed was to move the cat back 6 in back and make the pipe over the axle and the exit pipe, for the o2 sensors you need to get the sensors that match the ECU.

@@cesardubon1 Ok cool thanks, I have the o2 sensors for that. My concern was more in terms of the pipe diameters, because three 3.0 is 2" and the 3.4 is 2.25".

@@cesardubon1 I went to get a Magna Flow muffler for it and it turns out it has a 2.5" diameter, didn't want to leave the wrong diameter here and leave bad information.

Mine made it to 260k on my 2000 4runner engine and it killed over. Just ordered a jdm 3.4 5vzfe engine. Got it delivered to the mechanic shop. He calls. Says the oil pan is different and he's not sure if it'll work? Asked if there was a difference between the 2x4 and 4x4. What the heck does that have to do with the engine? Said the oil dipstick is in a different place so wouldn't they just be able to swap my engine's oil pan with the JDM 3.4 5VZFE I just bought? Then something about the exhaust would need changed!?!?! Like I'm freaking out. I dropped 2k on this JDM Engine from FLORIDA and live in OKLAHOMA. I am supposed to meet the mechanic at his shop at 8am in the morning and he's going to show me what he's talking about. I'm again freaking out. Does anyone know if all is good and he's just going to need to use my old engines oil pan and sump pump and he's over reacting.... or even clueless? What the ever loving shit have I gotten myself into. Help my fellow 3.4 yota people!!!!!!!!!

Not much labor other than removing the old engine instaling the new one however if ya have a 22re you need new engine mounts. And 22r needs a Efi harness upgrade.

No I don’t. I asked a shop near me if they could do it I have a 1993 pickup with the 22re and I asked if they could swap the 3.4 in and the guy to me it was a very major swap and that the 3.4 has security that has to be flashed. Do you know what he is talking about?

I've been on a 3.4 swap video binge the past 2 days. My 3.0 threw a rod thru passenger side of block a few days ago. So mine is a 95 4runner 4x4 with automatic trans. 100% stock. Can I just swap in a 3.4 and still use my auto trans and 4x4?

I didn’t modify the brackets I used a 3/8 body lift very easy to install
