@Mr. Cairo it shouldn't matter how and when your drive a vehicle (within reason), it shouldn't break down worth dpf issues. What about all the Victorians that can only drive within 5km at the moment, should they not drive their Prados in case the dpf sh*ts itself?

We’re looking to upgrade our 2005 model, but these are ridiculously expensive for what they are. It’s an old car that Toyota just tarts up every couple of years. Seriously, Toyota would have amortised the development cost of the Prado at least a decade ago. They will be building these things for peanuts now. Price should be about $40,000, particularly in view of how basic they are. $66,500 for a mid spec car with no leather interior, no Apple CarPlay or Android, no front parking sensors (extra cost option), really basic switchgear they’ve been using for years, etc etc. The Kakadu pricing is a joke. Toyota are stiffing Australians for the money. I’m considering switching to a Ford Everest. Drives much better, more power, 10 speed auto, steers like a car instead of a boat, a more comfortable ride, just as good off road, more ground clearance, higher tow rating and cheaper.
@AnyAutoTV5 жыл бұрын
It's true that it is an old car. I asked Toyota if there are plans to upgrade. If there are, they aren't talking. Same goes for Landcruiser

Tomas A. How does it have so much torque, the land cruiser v8 here in US has way less, but perhaps more power, probably because of gasoline instead of diesel.
@GreenOval_Adventurers5 жыл бұрын
Anees Sarwar for example! A 2011 4.4 tdv8 Range Rover ( standard engine) has 700 nm of torque and 310hp going through a 8 speed gearbox, the Toyota’s output was good for 2004 but not today!. I’ve towed with bought cars mentioned above and a lot more and find the Toyota not a very good tow car and underpowered.
@AneesSarwar345 жыл бұрын
Stephen Langan really? Not a good towing car? It may not be as good at towing as it is at off road, but it can tow heavy objects, well over 5,500 lb trailers.

In every way and respect the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport kills the Prado. Price, features, reliability, handling and off road capabilities.
@medveds15 жыл бұрын
Hi David, in some six months from now I'm thinking about a Kakadu or VX Land Cruiser. 2 Things that are most important to me is off road ability and longevity. It's a proven fact that Toyota's are reliable and will last forever, but I also love my Mitsubishi diesels too. So, how would you compare your Sport off road against the Kakadu Prado with its diff locks and the cruiser with its off road prowess? Also are the Sports reliable and would they last as long as the cruiser/prado? Thanks in advance.
@AnyAutoTV5 жыл бұрын
Sooner or later you have to get out and look at it!
@CarRevvedGaming5 жыл бұрын
Why the Pajero Sport is better than Prado when the Fortuner destroys the Pajero? Reasons : More Features, better reliability, better handling if you go for the sport mode, and better off road because it is more powerful. Both Prado and Fortuner support 4.0L V6. The Fortuner has 239hp and the Prado has 271hp.

For a non Bunnings weekend crawler,get the base models, to heck with apple car play bs distractions, like having windows 95 in your car. Buy the bases save the dollars and upgrade suspension with a lift, some bar work, decent rims and meat get a great A,pine without all that touch screen bs, keep it real and use your car for what it’s is made for driving not entertaining the rug rats mrs and any other 7s millennials. Still have dollars left over from top models. a thats if buying new, those that know don’t buy DPF models, have a car that easily out last people driving it, instead of the Jones who upgrade every year let them enjoy the DPF and hybrid a play with me car lame I have no responsibility or driving skills technology bull s***t. Better yet just but a Yaris and save us all a head have and also stop singing ours doors when all 7 plonkers jump in and out of said vehicle cause they are arrogance selfish shitheads. U don’t need SUVs you can’t drive iditotts, leave the real 4wdinf to people who leave the tarmac for actual dirt. Stay in your lane( and for you Z gen Millenials I don’t mean road lane) Get an uber and stay on your tab,et and iphone land you’ll be even happier plugged in 24/7. And maybe just maybe when I come to town I can avoid and other door panel re shape and paint from all the SUV dicheads who think because they sit high they can do what the hell they like to others cars park in parks cause they can’t drive and park in the one painted for them because there isn’t an app for that yet or a parking camera called Kitt that will take over in auto mode for you, only Xgen will know what Im talking about re Kitt. I drive Prados love em, still bit like AWD you snoobed down on, a Prado isn’t a true Landcrusier is it. V8 TD yeah now thats a real LC take that and shove it up your Hybrid EV SUV from Hyundai or Tesla.
