Prado is not designed to be a small suburban constant 7 seater. That's what Kluger is. Prado and the LandCruiser 200 are for suburbs and rural homes who need 5 seats and the odd 7 seat configuration. For people who do lots of dirt roads, tow heavy or live in extreme climates like Darwin's flooded monsoon seasons. It's also a more long term purchase with strong resale, Australia wide dealerships if you have a problem towing your caravan in the middle of nowhere and it holds its value strong.

Well written. The city nutheads dont get this and this car is a very bad choice for the city. The engine is good for the long journey and towing, but no good for quick accleration like you need in city and the suburbs. Toyota have actually decreased capacity of engine from 3.0 litre to 2.8 litre for last 2 years i think with no increase in power or torque??? Emmissions?

Yes but the Prado Fortuner & Hilux now all have the 2.8 TD donk - with the renowned diesel particulate filter exhaust issues trying to meet clean air emissions regulations, & Toyota won’t admit they have a design / engineering flaw & either redesign & retrofit something that actually works under recall! Instead they are duck shoving the problems back onto owners! This is NOT what we came to expect from Toyota, once upon a time they looked after their customers as the valuable assets they actually are but seemingly those days are now dead. If it were me I’d steer away from the 2.8TD & opt for the more expensive twin turbo V8 TD 200 series.
@OFFICIAL_VIDEO_AWARDS5 жыл бұрын
@@ianmoone2359 from what I understand Toyota fixed the issues quickly. And provided more education to owners and sales staff on advising owners that these cars need to run on a highway for twenty mins per month initiating the burn feature for the DPF. I believe they added a manual button to activate it on newer models. I just hope car reviewers who I don't mind just understand that this is what people need. Maybe not them but for others. If manufacturers started listening to them all, pretty soon all options for proper tough long lasting and capable vehicles will be relegated to city SUVs. Trouble is, the city car reviewers are always comparing them to the likes of Santa Fe or Mazda CX models. Always mentioning the acceleration sucks and it handles without "feel". When your up the Territory on a dirt road, it's rained non stop for a week and you have to get across a bridge with flowing water and crocodiles if you get it wrong, none of these complaints matter.

Eric Boothman I drive them almost every day at work. I can confirm they are gutless for modern conditions: you have to push them hard in everyday regional driving and this isn’t desirable. You want effortless power and torque, which these don’t have. I also drive Pajeros and frankly whilst the Prados are quieter, have better tech and are better on dirt the Mitsubishis drive and handle much better on bitumen. Sure if you’re a nomad with a van and thus don’t care about holding people up they’ll get you around smoothly but to be honest I think the Prados are talked up too much by the “Toyota or nothing” crowd.

If you need a 3rd row on a regular basis for people and luggage this is not for you, go an get a van or mpv, but don’t complain. This model Prado came out in 2009 so given Toyota's record of hanging onto a shape for 10 years and giving it small updates and facelifts throughout its life which is all it needs, I would expect to see an all new Prado and possibly LandCruiser in the next year or a little longer I'd say. But unlike Ford who need to bring an all new shape out every five years it seems to keep the car selling, Toyota don't, they just refine their cars with updates like I already said every three years roughly. Lastly Toyota did do a major drivetrain upgrade which lets face it is the most important thing on the car back in 2015 or 2016 when they switched from the 1KD engine to the new 1GD engine.

Why u don't review Toyota Land Cruiser 70's Series
@wmw07025 жыл бұрын
As this is a Soccer Mum's car, they should get a real-life mum with kids to do a review next time.

Hi w02m08w, Thanks for your concern, Nedahl is a mother of two beautiful girls, and that's why we've got her doing the family reviews. Have a great day. RN

If you’re not going to watch the video at least read the reply. It’s a GXL with leather upgrade for 3.5k. Your seats aren’t wool either.

Toyota prado is not a big car. It's a little car for me or at least compare to American cars, this is just a little baby in adult wold.
