I own a 2010 Insight and have traveled with luggae, equipment and four people in the car. Not a problem at all. I recently took a long trip and rented a car that ended up having less space.

This was very well done. I went to a Honda dealer who had an insight listed online as being there. In fact - they're extremely rare - at any Honda dealer. Well, this one was out for a ding repair, and the sales guy REALLY wanted to sell a car. He talked me out of a hybrid and wouldn't let me out until I bought a car. I had to run out of there. He chased me to the Toyota dealer. They were asleep at the wheel - no one seemed interested in selling a car and the hostess was a bimbo.

i agree. insight is definitely fun to drive. even with 99 horsepower, you cant beat the i-vtec engine in honda cars!
@pastorchasallan880011 жыл бұрын
The Prius has 3 driving modes. If you had put it in power mode insight wouldn't have stood a chance with 99hp verses 134hp in the Prius. Insight also can't be driven in EV mode or ECO mode because the ICE is connected directly to the electric motor. If your going to do a review then review all the options with the 2 cars your reviewing.
@transitvideosbayarea7 жыл бұрын
Actually I also think the insight looks better in looks.
@KkkittT10 жыл бұрын
Prius has better gas mileage, better resale value, better performance, better drive quality and better maps. Those are the things youre looking for when you're buying a hybrid, not for the interior and feel and sound of the car when you drive. This guy likes fast cars, its no wonder he picked a more powerful of the 2 cars.

Just so you know, the best tank I've gotten on my 2011 Insight is 53mpg. My mother in law has a Prius and she has had constant problems with it, but none here with my Insight.

If my 2010 Insight wasn't so wonky and jerky, I would say it was a great car. Right now, it's just a good car. Gas mileage is good too, but not amazing.

In used market, I'd pick Prius unless you can buy Insight (Same year, mile, equipment) for $3000 or more less than prius.
@MylesV7 жыл бұрын
That's why I'm going with the Insight. I can get a 2012 Insight EX with nav, backup cam, and bluetooth for the same price as a 2009 Prius with no nav, no backup cam, and more mileage.
@MrBleh713 жыл бұрын
The insight was right to win. Its cheaper than the prius and drives like a car. But I admire anyone who gets a hybrid.
@1983Jacko11 жыл бұрын
If you can afford an Insight, you can probably afford a Prius as well. Prius is just better marketed so everyone is all over it. I mean don't get me wrong, I love the Prius, but Insight is just way better to drive. Any time my company rents me a car for a trip we either go with Prius or an Insight and the latter was so much more fun to drive in my opinion. I like a little bit of noise when I drive in the city, Prius was just a boring drive, sorry.

@CarlUsana-o3l14 жыл бұрын
I like the Honda Insight too, the entire car even the interior is futuristic, and I love the feeling of the steering. I don't really like the interior for the Prius and why is the speedometer in the center? A lot of Toyota cars have that and visibility is poor.
@CarlUsana-o3l9 жыл бұрын
Happy owner of the facelift version of Insight, the efficiency is still the benchmark in its class today . . Why would you compare them as they're in different segments, Prius is bigger in size . . .
@tlf3618 жыл бұрын
The Prius is basically it's only competitor lol. In it's class?? It's the only car in it's class if you're gonna get so specific. Btw, I have almost never ever seen an Insight on the road before, how is it? From other (more recent) reviews and comparisons, the Prius is faster, more comfortable, uglier (imo, especially the 2016 one), more fuel efficient, better quality of build, bigger/more space, better interior, etc. What made you choose the Insight?
@CarlUsana-o3l8 жыл бұрын
I love the futuristic star wars like design, doesnt look dated at all until today. Almost 4 years now, smooth and efficient I'm getting 20km/L+ average for combined driving. Prius have a little brother called Prius C right, that's the direct competitor
@tlf3618 жыл бұрын
CARL WongTW Ah yes true, forgot about the new Prius C. Hmm well I've never been a Honda fan so maybe that's why...

Im 6'2 (big guy) im thinking about getting an "insight" to do UBER.... how is the interior space? Ive had a 2010 prius before..it was cool...but i kept getting bullied on the road...by other cars and people driving trucks...apparently doing 50mph in the fast lane for 10 miles is frowned upon here in florida 😃
@bg137915 жыл бұрын
@faction Well, no- in post-2008 EPA numbers, the Insight got 45-49. The reason that this gets worse mileage is simple- the new Insight is exponentially safer than the old one, and therefore weighs about 1000lbs more. I would agree, though, that Honda really didn't take hybrids seriously (and therefore got stuck without one when the gas prices went up) so they put out this little number, which may have better handling etc. than the Prius, but as far as the drivetrain, it isn't even comparable.

Oh and I bought a Honda because Honda’s engines kick ass. All my equipment I have used for maintenance runs on Honda’s small gas engines from gas powered generators to lawn mowers everything lasts I used lots of other companies in the past and they suck. Sorry Toyota

Prius or Insight? Neither for me! I'm going for the Lexus CT.
@999TonyY13 жыл бұрын
My choice is the Prius because it has the total package - comfort, space, economy, refinement and carbon foot print. I have owned Hondas and Toyotas, my experience is Toyota has an edge in terms of longevity and reliability. As a dear friend owns a Prius 07', and has clocked 200K with the original battery and only spent on maintenance. His brake pads are still the original ones. I am pretty sure Honda is not able to measure up. The world has spoken as Prius equates to "Hybrid and "green".
@kaleab1514 жыл бұрын
how did the prius feel sluggish when it has a better 0-60 time and beats the insight with 3+ seconds in the quarter mile. I'd say terrible video review on this one.

@ritchit But the good thing about a Honda Insight is you can have the MUGEN. And THAT'S ABSOLUTELY MENTAL.
