I just installed the hitch yesterday. Not an easy job, you definitely need the right tools if you do it yourself. Took around 40 mins I ended up using a motorcycle jack to lift the hitch and still needed two people to balance it and not damage the frame or the exhaust. One thing I like to point out is to measure the length of your hitch and match it with the holes (about 42.7 inches). My hitch was bent inwards by about an inch and had to hammer it outwards, possibly bent during transportation. I added antisieze to the threads as well and sprayed anti rust around the joints. Hope that helped

Thanks for sharing it. Great video! It took me 1h and half to install it. I filled a plastic milk container with water, then using it to raise the hitch. The passenger side is really not easy. My bolts took a long time to match.

Thanks for the video. Most videos lower the muffler to install the tow hitch. I just installed mine using your technique and all I can say is that you make it look really easy. I used a floor jack to help me get the tow hitch up and in the proper angle to get it over the muffler exhaust pipes. Still wasn't easy doing it by myself. One thing I wanted to point out is that I had to remove a tow hook located on the passenger side frame. I couldn't get the tow hitch to align and it was because the tow hook was getting in the way, so I removed it. I didn't have a dog bone but I had a 19mm wrench that I torqued the shit out of. The washers have 4 little teeth so I'm assuming it'll grip into the frame, making it harder less likely to loosen. Overall your video inspired me to attempt to install the tow hitch on my own and without lowering the muffler. I might not have done it either if not for your video. Thank you.

Hi. I was working for 3 hours today... and I failed.. I'm going to try again next time. The reason I failed... Both sides won't go in at the same time.. If you fasten the bolt on one side The trailer hitch on the other side is not going in.. No matter how hard I try, I can't... I ask for your help.

I have a 1/2" drive torque wrench and I can't find a crowfoot adapter that fits a 1/2" drive and is 19mm. What kind of adapter did you use to access the tight space for the torque wrench?

Good luck finding the19 mm dog bone torque adapter. You can't rent one from any of the auto part places and most are sold in kits costing over $100.00. You will need the adapter on the passenger side!

He's just providing a video on how to install a rear hitch. Many people I know don't tow trailers in the city. Most install a bumper step and bumper stop. They are very useful to climb on when washing your vehicle, as well as providing more guard against rear bumper damage. With the hitch you can also add a cargo basket in the rear which doesn't require any rear brake lights, as long as your tail lights are very very visible and cargo is tied down properly. I'm sure if this owner had a trailer he would provide another video, but until then, I really appreciate this video he has provided for many of us.
