Toyota Rav4 Front Wheel Bearing Hub Assembly Removal and Replacement

Really good video. No blabbing just video. Nice! 14:19 I did this exact job today on a 2013 RAV4. Two things I learned: 1. That hub and axle do not always come apart that easy. No matter how much penetrating oil you use or what brand. I had to get a 12 ton hub puller rental at Auto Zone to get mine to separate. My 7 ton hub puller catastrophically failed. 2. I learned how to rethread the spindle. Yes I put the nut on before I hit the end. The nut actually slid up the threads and destroyed them. Harbor Freight saved the day there. This is actually an easy job if the axle pops loose easily like this video. If not get a good hub puller and a can of PB Blaster or WD 40. Spray then apply pressure and hit the hub with a hammer. Repeat until it pops off. The rest is child’s play.

I'm doing this next week, two front Hubs on a Rav4 EV. Getting hard deep knocking sound when turning. Any other suggestions ? Looks like a Hub Puller is the way to go ? 99,000 miles.

That’s a snap-on 3/8 digital torque wrench w/ flex head. I got it on the Snap-On truck from work.

My RAV4 is 2015 has the same problem it only has 90,700km

I took my rav4 to shop and mechanic replaced both wheel bearing at the front ,cost me $1300 CAD.
