Toyota Rav4 | Full Cleaning, Detail & Sale Preparation | Time-Lapse In 15 Minutes

When this Toyota Rav4 arrived it was particularly dirty and uncared for. The interior was mouldy and smelt terrible, Outside the bodywork was filthy and dull and the headlights were badly hazed but i knew this one could be saved!
You may recognise this Toyota Rav4 from my 'Chop To The Top' series where i am trading my way up from a cheap car to a supercar. I am highlighting each of the cars from the series so far in one of these 15 minute edits over the next few weeks so that it is easy for people to get an understanding of what was done to each car in a quick, easy to digest video with no talking!

Awesome. I’ve got a video idea for the future, restore an old, old 110 defender and then kit out the back with a sleeping platform etc. then go and do a camping/off-road tour of somewhere in the UK to display the capabilities and beauty of the truck (even a road trip to Norway?). That would be epic and theoretically would appeal to a lot of viewers I think. I would certainly love watching it. Keep up the good work

is there anything to watch out for in the engine bay? planning on cleaning mine and aside from your video, can't find any with a similar generation rav4

To be honest it’s much the same as any other engine bay; always protect any electrical components, try not to get any dressings etc on drive belts and the like etc. where possible it’s best to clean things without masses of flowing water. Just go at it as carefully as you can!

Is it not dangerous to buy such car? I mean it´s nice that someone details it from outside and inside what the eye can see, the car now looks like it had the best owner before that cared for it but the oposite is the truth, it was neglected for who knows how many years. If someone doesn´t care how it looks he probably also neglected maintenance, could there be hidden problems with for example dirty fuel lines, dirty brake lines, corrosion in the cooling loop of the engine and similar?

True but that is why you should always ask if the car has a maintenance logbook when buying a second hand car. Ofcourse that doesnt completely solves the issue but still..

This car was particularly neglected in terms of how filthy it was allowed to get but it did come with service history which details all of the mechanical work that has been done over its lifetime, but regardless, as part of the process of preparing a car for sale i generally send them out to have a full service and cam belt (where required) before advertising them. That's about as much as you can do to make sure the car is good to go for a few more years!
