KDSS has disconnected the front *_and_** rear sway-bars on Toyota/Lexus trucks and SUVs since 2004 (20 years). This SDM is cost-cutting. It only disconnects the front bar*

KDSS was similar to a disconnect, but I dont think it was quite the same thing as it kept the bar connected and just moved one of the swaybar mounts to pivot it and allowed for more effective wheel travel.

@ALMX5DP same effect as a full disconnect... no end link, no sway bar... it's why e-kdss is on the flagship Landcruiser 300 in the world market and why it's not on this much cheaper pickup truck

@@LexusGX460-OFF-ROAD I just saw a list of RTI scores. Just as an example of newer vehicles, one ‘24 Lexus GX550 with ekdss got 616. The GX550 Overtrail got 625, and a ‘24 Land Cruiser 250 with only front bar disconnected got a 631. I’d imagine if both bars were disconnected that might eek up slightly. No argument that the E/KDSS has other distinct advantages but to say it’s exactly the same as a disconnect might be disingenuous.

Sounds great, but the price, flimsy plastics, transmission failure, etc..need to be fix and bring back v6 with hybrid. Dont listen to youtubers who always wanted more tourqe, more horespower, turbo stuff, etc..and never own one for long time. What a customers needed is more space in rear seat, reliable engine and transmission, non turbo with hybrid with less price. Wake up Toyota before its too late.

@ bc….its a better ride, better mpg if they use the grand highlander hybrid power train (36 mog), good for getting groceries or doing trash runs or lowes and Home Depot. Good for vacations. Lots of storage. I don’t need to tow. Plus….I own a 5.7 sequoia red with tow package rated for 10,000 pounds towing. I’m not a person who cares if it’s a truck or “not a truck”.
