You folks like to make comments about excuses. He's just telling it like it is. That happens a lot in tournament fishing. You can't control the elements and just deal with what you can do to put a few in the boat. I've been there at least a hundred times, and it's very frustrating. Venting is good for the soul. I appreciate that. Get it off your chest and move on.

DAM SKIPPY BROTHER !!!! They all comment about stuff that isn’t even a big deal like it is. But most of all they put words or feelings into things Randy didn’t say like the boat last night ALMOST everyone crying about him not having a boat for this tournament and the boats he should have. BUT TOTALLY MISSED the whole reason he dun and is doing this for. Then to big headed to listen when when you tell them he’s making a point about the $90K Truck $150K Boat then another $15K-$25K+ for rods reels to.

I used to fish Wheeler Lake in my kayak. One day I watched a tournament on that lake where guys were running up and down the lake trying to catch a limit, and most were catching 4 or fewer fish per day. A 7 pound average per day would put you in the 10k money. The weird thing was, I fished many a day in my kayak when I caught more and bigger fish in an hour right around the point from the boat ramp where they put in. I think I could have made at least 10k in that tournament from a kayak.

I’ve got an 83 Johnson.. it’s been a motor that never caused me a single issue in fact I’ve towed more 4bangers to the landing then I have 2strokes… it’s all about how you take care of a motor. Those Johnson’s and Erudes are meant to run as long as you keep the carbs good and oil in the tank. I’ll take a old Johnson 1fiddy or 225 over anything new, if I could hook a vessel view up to mine I’d be happy as a clam!!!

Completely understand the traditionalist mentality but man why handicap yourself so bad your having to gas up twice, work on motor, etc. Get an older boat but one with big enough tank, reliable outboard, and is going to do everything you need. ESPECIALLY GPS like it's a safety hazard these days not having it if you're going to fish a major tournament trail. Again I understand the thought process but not to the extreme you are taking it.
