Well Dave they sure buried that one. Guess they feel if you can’t find it you’ll bring it to the dealer. Liked the older simpler cars where everything was right out in the open. A flasher was just a metal cylindrical item easy to locate and purchase. One size fit all. Anyway enjoy a cup of coffee on me hope alls good Artie ❤️

I have a question: when I turn the signal, is there a point in the wiring than can give me current prior to the fuse? I don't want intermittent current, I want a steady one to trigger my head unit screen to switch to camera mode just like in the reverse.
@BigDog50001
@BigDog50001 4 жыл бұрын
It is possible but depending on the head unit it may cause issues with turn signals.

I have a 2015 Sienna that's having an issue with the left rear turn signal, it's always on when the headlights are on. It just stays solid. I was told to replace the flasher as you did in this video. However I can't locate it, I looked where you pointed it out, but they must have moved it for this year. Can you offer any guidance?

The third gen Toyota sienna fladher relay, is locate behind the speedometer. I tried that in our 3rd gen sienna. So I would get an led bulb with a built in resistors. The 2nd gen is more simple approach.

Thanks. I have a different issue that no one else seems to have. My turn signal lights come on randomly and stays solid until it drains the battery. I disconnected the battery once and it stayed off but now once the battery is reconnected it comes on again. I tried removing all the fuses I think are related and still it does not come off. Please point me in the right direction?

Hey I’m having a same issue and can’t seem to find answer Did you by chance figure it out?
@tahseenn9615
@tahseenn9615 Жыл бұрын
@@huzaifaqazi7267 Not really. My issue turned out to be some contraption the dealer had put in to give me daylight running lights (I have a US vehicle bought from a dealer). It had become waterlogged and was causing havoc with the lights. I pulled it out, reconnected the wires and that solved the problem.

@eskrimagr
@eskrimagr 3 жыл бұрын
Maybe you must find the signal from the switch to the relay. In some cases that signal , will be a Ground signal -12V .
@PickyOne
@PickyOne 3 жыл бұрын
@@eskrimagr Thanks, yes it is ground (Negative). I may end up installing a manual switch. I just wanted to imitate the one in the new Honda odyssey that turns the screed into a right hand live mirror image. I have a head unit with extra video input, but still don't know how to make wake up with the signal.

I don't think that one has a separate flasher, I think it's an integrated circuit built into the instrument cluster (Combination Meter Assembly).

You know...I like the way that you show us the part, even spinning it around in your hand for ten seconds. But it would have been helpful if it showed for a second the business end, so that I would know that the model that Amazon SWEARS is correct, and has 2 pins, is NOT the correct one with EIGHT pins. (Since I'm replacing the stocker with an LED model to fix "hyper flash," by definition the Toyota part number is useless.) Well, at least the video did a really good job of showing where the thing is located. Now all I have to do is remove the dash and windshield so I can actually get to it. A curiously un-Toyota way of screwing the home mechanic. Or at least that's what I thought before I learned that the front bumper cover has to come off before the headlights can come out. (No, I'm not making that up.) And don't get me started on the motorized sliding door cable assemblies...

First, these bots are hitting everyone's comments section hard. Second, is it common for modern vehicles to hide the flasher can? Why can't they put it in the fuse block like any other relay or breaker?

Some manufacturers hide them, I am sure the engineers have a great reason lol! I usually mute the bot comments.

The flasher is located in a place that can be heard by the driver. It needs to be loud to be heard to remind the driver that the signal is still on. By the way click sound for each side L or R is produced by the same clicker, I always assumed there are two clickers because the dash signal arrow lights are located apart form each other, childhood assumptions.
