Toyota Turn Signals Not Working - Diagnosis and Repair. Was it my fault? In this video I show how I diagnose and fix the turn signals not working on a Toyota Sienna. The blinkers and hazard lights stopped working right after I fixed another issues on this Toyota. When Toyota turn signals don't work, sometimes it can be a bad turn signal flasher , a bad combination switch, a bad hazard switch or sometimes it can be something else. The exact vehicle in this video is a 2006 Toyota Sienna CE.

You are just awesome. I went in to get car inspected and thought I was going to have to buy a switch motor. I don't know what they did, but my signal lights did not work when he sent me away with a passed inspection. The hazards still work and I can find the screws to get to that part easier. You just eased my restful sleep tonight. Thank you.

You know when people try to explain these things they kind of gloss over the major things you need to know which makes me think they either aren't that knowledgeable or are simply bad teachers. This is one of the few wheres its very obvious you know exactly what you are talking about and explain it very clearly. Thanks man.

I was going crazy diagnosing my turn signal problem until I saw the part in the video where there was hack wiring. I checked the trailer harness wiring and quick splice connectors were used and the wire to the rear turn signal had broke off. You saved me many of hours of troubleshooting. Thank you!

This is an amazing high quality video troubleshooting step by step and arrived at awesome result at the end. I am struggling with similar problem on a similar vehicle 2007 Toyota Sienna AWD. Hazardous light is working flawlessly all the time but the turn signals are not working and the battery indicator at the time of ignition is not showing either. Up on investigation 15 amp hazardous fuse is fine but 10 amp GUAGE1 (under the dash) fuse is blown up on just turning on the ignition without starting. I disconnected all four indicator lights (front and back) and put the ignition on, 10 amp GAUGE1 blown again. I checked the wiring under the dash dash fuse box and the console wiring and it seems to be intact. In another test, put a new 10 amp fuse and turn the ignition on, the battery indicator and turn signal worked fine however when the key tuned to start position and started the car the indicator light stop working and the fuse is blown again. Bottom line sometime the 10 amp GUAGE1 fuse is blown when the ignition is turned on and some other time when the ignition is in the start position fuse is getting blown. Both cases engine starts fine. Any recommendations to test would be greatly appreciated.

Great to the point instructions, i have come across a lot of the those cheap nasty scotch lock connectors in the past in my repairs of customer's wiring. especially in rear where some aftermarket towbar fitters trailer plugs. have just done a quick fix ... i hate them they bound to fail. also now coming across al ot of fixers with panel beaters using same method with bull bar fitments. gahhh... but always have happy customer after its fixed. get job on the fix. i look forward to more content.

The turn signals and hazards on my 2001 Corolla stopped working after I replaced the RF turn signal bulb. I was at my wit's end on how to figure out the problem, and I did not want to pay my mechanic $120+ to diagnose and fix what I knew had to be a relatively cheap fix. I watched several Corolla specific videos which were of no real help before I stumbled upon this video. The Sienna here was exhibiting almost identical symptoms as my Corolla when the turn signals failed. After watching this video I was able to step-by-step diagnose the issue on my Corolla and, more importantly, fix the problem! In my case I evidently caused a short in the RF turn signal bulb socket which in turn blew the turn signal and hazard fuses. I disconnected the socket, replaced the fuses, and voila, the signals were working again (other than the right side flashing quickly as there was no front bulb). Replaced the plug and bulb (I actually replaced the entire turn signal assembly as the glass was cracked on it anyway) and everything works perfectly again. THANK YOU so much for creating this clear and concise video detailing how to diagnose and fix this problem. Even though it was for a different model, it helped me out tremendously!

Okay, this so solved my problem, though maybe not in the way you intended. I went out to check the hazards and realised I'd left them on when I'd done a tow... and apparently when the hazards are left on when you start the car, neither the hazards nor the turn signals work. So of course the turn signals weren't working... check your hazards first. Thanks! Now I have a free afternoon.

@@BigDog50001 Hi Dave , yes I did. It was the relay. It was behind the kick panel on the driver's side. You have to look up a little to see it. I had a similar issue on one of these same vintage Siennas where the brake lights would blow the fuse but not all the time. Took me a while but finally tracked it down to bad aftermarket tail light socket/housings. Try telling someone they need to buy two new tail lights when the old ones look just fine. Two used OEM tail lights fixed the problem, though.

Did you run continuity test on socket to determine it was bad?

Great video. My right blinker light on the dash does not blink, the hazards only left works. All other outside lights work fine. What would cause this to happen? There are no bulbs in the dash.
