You saw my truck! I have that exact same rack. Now, the wholes are not aligned for sure, but on the second gen, I do not have an issue with the shark fin antenna. It still has a very tiny gap so it doesn't really touches the bar. I do use my rack for kayak (about 56 pounds), the fishing rod and the front light bar. I didn't have to drill on my truck for the light bar as it can be mounted on that roof rack.

Thanks for this video Rob! Just used it to install the OEM rack on my 22 Sport. Thankfully everything bolt wise lined up beautifully. Used a lot of silicone to make sure I don’t have issues down the road. My pet theory is the 100 lb limit has less to do with what it can support than what the weight up high does to the center of gravity. Had an FJ Cruiser it had a big roof rack they said 150 lbs. that metal would support more but corners get weird at highway speed with that weight up high. Just my theory. YMMV😉

Why didn't you get a prinsu or a front runner? My front runner low profile rack fits with the sharkfin antenna and fit perfectly in the predrilled holes and your talking about the wind deflector on the prinsu rack. 2021 Tacoma trd offroad. Also learn how to portage its pretty easy. If you have issues lifting 100 lbs over your head and weigh less than 200 lbs don't even consider yourself a male.
@RobMotive3 жыл бұрын
Short answer...because I like the look of the OEM product better👍
@gagehassan88853 жыл бұрын
@@RobMotive Fair enough. I wonder if you got a super thin layer that equated the same length of the oem rails and put it under just to raise it slightly in the rear with a bit of an angle if it would change the appearance of that look. And I was just talking smack about the lifting 100 lbs over your head and just wanted to bait you in. Much love from Canada and if it wasn't for you I wouldn't have gotten a 6 speed tacoma so thanks for the content, others and myself appreciate it.
@gagehassan88853 жыл бұрын
Just to piggyback off that. The piece would start at the front of the rail and build an incline all the way to the back just giving it enough clearance to make it over the antenna and acting like a wedge underneath the existing piece. If you know someone with a 3D printer handy this would be super easy or it could be a diy.
