Unfortunately, when the engine breaks on a Toyota Yaris Gr, nothing is salvageable, turbo, AC compressor, alternator, all engine components break!

Answer from the Toyota (Carline)following a thorough reading of the ECU!!!! TOYOTA WARRANTY!!! (Participation) Concerns: Toyota Yaris GR - your request for participation in repair costs Following the engine failure of your Toyota Yaris GR, we took delivery of this vehicle, delivered by a repairer, on April 11, 2024. To follow up on your request, after observing the damage, we carried out a report which was sent to the Technical Service of Toyota Switzerland. A request for photos was made to us to analyze: 1. The general condition of the vehicle 2. The type and state of wear of the tires 3. Any modifications to the vehicle Furthermore, a thorough reading of the electronic unit allowed them to detect, among other things, the vehicle drifting at 173 km/h and the engine overheating to 120°C. It turns out that the damage observed is due to inappropriate use of the vehicle and not intended by the manufacturer. In view of the above, we hope you understand that Toyota cannot respond to your request. why you dont buy a POS over priced toyota. I am surprised they denied warranty as this is a performance car and is suppose to be beat on. American V8's always take the cake and when I say always I mean ALWAYS!!!!!!!!!! buy a 1LE camaro which is also track focused and that engine is bullerproof. normally what I've seen is that an engine can last around 12k Km (but can varry widely) in race conditions but it doesn't mean it blows up after that, probably because they take them apart after that interval. I think you need to write down all track hours to evaluate the wear and oil change intervals. or put a 20x multiplier for track laps. like 20 laps x 5km = 100km; equivalent to 20x 100= 2000km; 5 track days= 10.000 km; 12000km track sessions= 240.000km normal condition. Something like that but with real data like race cars rebuild intervals vs how many miles it last if not taken to the track.

Must install oil coolers, it is very important when you tune the car When you reach 120+ degrees C, (it usually shows lower on the cluster than it shows higher on the logger) 90 degrees C is the best working oil temperature for a thick 10w60, if you use 0w20 maybe 80 degrees C is the best working temperature. Anything beyond the best working temperature exponentially deteriorates lubrication effect as the temperature climbs up. 120 may not be a bomb level temperature but it will at a high degree wear out your bearings and piston rings Tuned engines produce more combustion, and the internal parts and alloys expands ever so slightly more in intense usage like in race tracks. The more sensitive it becomes for lubrication. Use fluidampr pulley to reduce vibrations and you might as well rebuild with forged internals to avoid stock con rod bending over and eventually fracturing

Type Rs overheat their oil immediately on track stock. They're much worse than the GR Yaris or Corolla on a track. Watch Misha Charoudin's nurburgring lap with a type R, the oil temps get sky high, and if I recall correctly, the GoPro recording the gauge cluster quite inconveniently blocked his view of the oil temps. The official Honda lap record was cheated, as well, they modified gear ratios, and ran extra boost in 5th and 6th, as well as had completely different footwork on the car. Naturally, if it didn't overheat and they were running more boost with shorter gears, they likely also improved the cooling for the nurburgring lap car.

I don't know anything about this particular model. But I'll bet it's running the oem sump, which probably isn't baffled. I would say either oil or fuel surge due to corner g forces. This is why I installed a baffled sump and in tank surge tank in my Fd Rx7. You should know and monitor oil temp, fuel pressure, oil pressure, and water temp. This is extreme driving conditions the manufacturer was right to reject warranty. You can't pull massive lateral g forces repeatedly on any engine unless their oil and fuel supply maintains consistent pressure 👍

Let's start with the fact that the Yaris GR is in no way a car designed as a track car and is not marketed as such. Manufacturers refuse to honor warranties on cars that have been used on the track simply because it's a reasonable and logical approach, not because they hate enthusiasts. Do all the idiots criticizing Toyota for refusing to honor warranty realize that even cars designed and sold for racing, such as the $726,000 Aston Martin Vantage GT3, despite all the maintenance done on a race car, also break down when used on the track? Can you understand just how absurd and ridiculous such expectations of a manufacturer are? I am stunned and lack words for the unimaginable level of ignorance and total lack of understanding of the mechanics of how cars work that I have witnessed in the commets.
