5:33 set speed 0,5 you will understand that the camera in front of the car couldnt read well the lines on the road and turned right.Thats why you cant rely on a software that needs better programming.

Why following the car ahead has higher priority in the decision tree than lane keeping? The latter is the more general case, in my opinion...
@gokcan833 жыл бұрын
@@szabolcsh2901 When in doubt about lane lines, or can not recognize them; it will switch to the next best thing, following the vehicle at the front. Lane centering is always prioritized. That is why, you need to be careful when the system is in "follow mode" since that car can change lanes while bringing you with it too.

Man, I wish I could just trust the car to ride for me in the city... And I think it's very doable, actually, especially if we integrate the information about the whole infrastructure, traffic lights in real time, etc into the computers of the cars we produce. And if/when we'll equip every vehicle and bicycles and maybe even pedestrians with a GPS tag, so that our vehicles know exactly where everybody is. If we really wanted and worked as one, we could've had our city traffic completely automated years ago, I believe. Watching this video, it feels like I would spend less energy if I did everything manually than "assisting" the assisting system. 😅

hello. i got my 2023 Toyota yaris with all features and mine seems to not detect lanes at low speed. the indicator changes betweeen black filled lanes, which i assume is not detected and white filled lanes, which i actually dont really know what it means, but never any blue guidelines to indicate the LTA is fully active. my city i live in has very good street quality and very visible lanes. do i do something wrong? any info helps
@dandeeteeyem2170 Жыл бұрын
I think the system is only designed to assist when you are on a Highway, so even if it can handle stopped traffic, it won't highlight the lanes in blue until it "sees" the painted white lines go by frequently. I would be interested to see if this happens at low speed with solid white painted lines..

Does anyone know how to get rid of the annoying reminder? I'm not even letting go of the wheel, just holding it lightly, and I have to "swerve" on straight highways to get it to continue with lane assist. Also are there any hazards with driving this way in terms of braking? Like, is the system intelligent enough to not wear out the brakes? Does it even use the brakes in a hybrid? Or does it only use the regenerateive braking? Has anyone encountered another Toyota driver using this at the same time, and if so, did it affect your radar proximity sensors?
@1001cars Жыл бұрын
Yaris does not have capacitive steering wheel so the driver has to move it a little bit from time to time. ACC uses brakes similar to how the driver makes it: regenerative braking in first step and friction brakes if it is necessary. I am not sure about your last question: the front radar is used all the time when you drive, even without ACC active.
@dandeeteeyem2170 Жыл бұрын
@@1001cars thanks for the info! Yeah I was more curious, if many cars using the same system are on the road at the same time, in close proximity, can they interfere with each other? I'm assuming they are all on the same frequency, so would it be possible to pick up another car's radar or even worse, do they share a frequency with police speed traps? I'm assuming this has been thoroughly thought out, but a few weeks ago I drove past a police roadside speed camera and noticed it flashed multiple times as I drove by, well under the speed limit. Is this even possible?

I've heard in one video on KZbin that I think Yaris has a system that detects pedestrians and stops automatically. In fact, that's what I'm trying to find right now - a video where someone is testing this system. Apparently not many people made videos about testing it. Or maybe I'm just not using the right key words...
