My son, who works for Toyota, purchased the Mirai XLE. He got an amazing employee deal. So far, he has been super impressed with a) how quiet it is. b) how smooth it is over LAs crappy road surfaces.

He uses the Hydrogen station app on his iphone and drives a mile to a local station that actually manufactures its own hydrogen rather than relying on tankers. Fill ups take about 3 minutes. His range per fill up has been about 320 miles. He figures he will get about 35000 miles from his free $15,000 gas card.

I love my Toyota Mirai ❤ yes, you have to be mindful of when you have to fuel up . But it’s such a smooth ride. I bump my JBL speakers on my way to work and it makes me so happy! So if you have fuel stations nearby it isn’t such a hassle.

Hi Jeff, I never knew anything about the Mirai. Love the ambient lighting in back, rear side sun shades and power rear sun shade and 400 mile range. Wow!! This car has everything including rear heated and ventilated seats. Too bad it is very expensive. GREAT review Jeff. Keep them coming.

The honest range is about 250-270 miles not 400! Hydrogen is super expensive right now, sometimes not available at all. DO NOT BUY THIS CAR if you drive more than a few miles a day, lol

Jeff, if there's any Toyota reps there, tell them to use the mire architecture to make it into a Lexus, trade the hydrogen for a v6 hybrid, and swap the traditional trunk for a hatchback like an Audi A7/ Porsche Panamera. Great video 👍

Jeff, As I understand it, the only thing that comes out of the Mirai's tailpipe is clean water. Did they put a bucket back there to stop it from 'tinkling' on the carpet? 🤔

There is a manual override button to empty small water tank before you enter a garage in winter. However, in California, we always see a puddle under cars from the AC condensate drain.

Hi! I have a few questions: 1) How is Hydrogen gets created? Is it from renewable or non-renewable resources? 2) How safe is Hydrogen tank in the car? I hope it’s not the bomb on the road in case it meets and accident. 3) I live in Canada. How do they restrict water from freezing in the winter? Thanks!

There are several ways. Thermochemical Water Splitting: High temperatures generated by solar concentrators or nuclear reactors drive chemical reactions that split water to produce hydrogen. Photobiological Water Splitting: Microbes, such as green algae, consume water in the presence of sunlight and produce hydrogen as a byproduct.

Drove in it last night. Super quiet. No squeaks, no wind noise at normal speeds. 0-50 is quick as there is a battery assisting the hydrogen fuel cell. After 50 about the same as our hibrid UX.

Nothing like a corolla. The 2021 onwards is based on the Lexus LS. If the cars are next to each other, size-wise they are almost identical.

terrible experiences to add hydrogen, the hydrogen stations around me (usually 10 miles away) has been always down, one has been down for 4 months. The other I waited 30 min today without hydrogen or station error. The hydrogen price is twice or even triple the price of gas.

Toyota does not know what they are doing. I think the only real emphasis or improvement is the Infotainment Head Unit, otherwise it's an Avalon, Crown, Camry, Corolla, and other all blended together. Just a Boring Car with too many buttons scattered about the interior plus Piano Black plastic. No one cares about inside shades being automatic as just more stuff to break, best to get windows tinted. The Supersonic Red is sick as need to use a true Red or a better shade/hue of Red.

What will be the impact on the hydrogen vehicle market when we see the first hydrogen fuel station blow up??? The latest hydrogen bomb test by North Korea had a 'fireball radius' - the innermost circle to ground zero, hotter than the sun and kills everyone within 500 meters and a thermal radiation radius - capable of third-degree burns - of up to almost 4 kilometers (2.5 miles). With wind at 15 mph, radioactive fallout could cover a maximum distance of about 126 miles.

Hydrogen fuel stations blew up a few times already in Europe. Didn't really have an impact on the hydrogen vehicle market as the market was pretty much non-existent anyway and still is.

Piece of garbage $ 200 dolars for hydrogen and it only gives you 200 miles a tank without using the ac on summer if you decide to turn it on cut that mileage in half winter time the same if you used the defrost and a pain in the *55 to find a hydrogen station that works in Southern California toyota Saud it would give you 402 miles a tank that's false advertisement time to sue them. 🤮🤮🤮
