Thanks for sharing, so far I've gone to my Toyota dealer for my services. My next service is 55,000 miles, check installation of driver's floor mat, rotate tires, inspect wiper blades, inspect /adjust all fluid levels and visually inspect brake linings/drums & brake pads/discs. Those MPI's (Multi-Point Inspections) are very helpful! 👏🏽

I use that funnel also. I just did a oil change for one of my cars and I can almost dump the oil in from a 5 quart container. With the bigger opening on the 5 quart bottle I have to use a bit of caution. But it's as close to dumping in the oil as I can probably get.

Just subscribed. One of the best 'Toyota Oil Change' videos. There's a debate going on here in the house regarding using Jack to lift the front only and then placing 'ramps/jacks' to keep it safe...then sliding underneath for the procedure. Some say this is good because that's how the oil pan is shaped and the front end up will actually drain the oil properly without having to make sure that the car is level. Any opinion on that? Thanks.

Toyota Corollas are very reliable cars. I have driven mine for 42000 KMs and only cost was oil and filter changes at every 5000-5200 KMs. At 40,000 KM had brake service, plugs cleaning and throttle body cleaning. Total cost $25 for all these. Still gives me 15-16 KM/L fuel economy on highway at 100KM/h.

@@njsongwriter So, this is my thinking behind my selection. I understand how viscosity works in both protection, and efficiency dimensions. However when you go to the user manual those famous geographic temperature graphs and oil viscosity needs are so vague that I end up paying more attention to the additives package than to viscosity itself. And generally speaking I end up going lower in the cold temperature number and higher or the same in the hot temperature one. That's why I love when viscosity comes printed in the refilling oil cap ... it saves neuronal energy.

@njsongwriter3 жыл бұрын
Overfilling can make the oil foamy. Did you follow the correct procedure for filling the transmission or could you have overfilled it. In the US only older RAV4s had a 2AZ engine (before 2009) and they did NOT have a CVT transmission. What year is that vehicle? Are you somewhere other than in the USA? Some things you said just don't jive.

More so dominant in 2000-2002 with VVT-is. The problem with the 1ZZ-FE engine was lack of oil return holes, smaller sized piston and to compensate, Toyota put in oversized piston rings which get clogged especially with poor maintenance. Of course, the 2AZ-FE engines had a lot of them burn oil left, right, and centre.
@AirplaneFreak3 жыл бұрын
@@andretigiovaneti7587 More so depends on the specific unit itself. If the car is a rust bucket with a greasy engine bay, most likely yeah, it'll be smokey but if it is meticulously maintained and properly broken in when new, they have the ability to last up to 500K+ miles.
