Thanks Dave for the shoutout 👍Jackhammer is certainly a pain to take apart and should only be done if necessary! The finished result looks great, it's a cool vehicle.

No problem 👍 Hope you get from Subs from it. Often if I toy doesn't need taking apart fully it's best just to leave it. This one really didn't seem to want to be opened.

One of my favourite MASK vehicles, along with Switchblade, Thunderhawk and Rhino. One of the best toy lines of the 80s in my opinion.

Beautiful toy and a beautiful restoration Dave. Love a MASK restoration as they were always such cleverly designed not to mention good-looking vehicles.

The MASK Jackhammer is one of my favorite MASK vehicles. It just looks great when complete, and on the whole, it's less complicated than many of the other vehicles in the line. I do think that it is always wise to avoid cracking the MASK vehicles open if you don't have to. Many of them have complicated, spring-loaded interior bits that can be difficult to put back together--especially if the plastic has warped and aged a bit. Trying to get the Raven back together nearly broke me as a human being, for instance! lol. That was a bit of a struggle. The Thunderhawk is no picnic, but it's not quite as bad. The Jackhammer is just a bit more straight-forward, and if you go slow with it, taking it apart isn't too bad--but the sonic welding is the big obstacle in doing that. Old plastic, sonic welded. Just sounds like a perfect storm for plastic to warp and snap where you don't want it to do so! I think you made a VERY wise decision in not going that route since you really didn't need to. As always, when it comes to toy repair, Dave, you are always going to be the most sagacious person in the room!

Nice repair Dave I repaired my jackhammer that I got off eBay last year and I had to open it fully. It was a nightmare but I got there in the end and all is working well 👍🏼

Nice repair I used to have this one as a kid, I was lucky to have a lot of mask toys including boulder hill, the rhino etc. Sadly we moved a lot due to my Dads work and over the years they were given away or sold :( I wish I still had them. It’s a shame there are no modern reissues like other lines have seen in recent years.

I'm living vicariously through your videos. If I ever actually got into M.A.S.K. collecting again, I would never see the end of it 😂 One of the things I loved so much about Venom was them being made up of such great "subcultural" henchmen like Sly, Floyd, Bruno Sheppard or Cliff here. Even Vanessa Warfield had a black streak in her red hair to make her more "punk". Fun characters, the lot of 'em. And simply great toys.

When you mention all those characters I get that legendary Venom theme in my head!

Dave, aren´t you afraid to break the Masks of the figures? I remember, in the 90´s, i´ve got also some M.A.S.K vehicles and figures, and the masks where soft and skwishy. After few years i found some figures, and the masks where brittle, and broke in my hands.

That’s pretty clever engineering in there for that gun. When I see you take a toy apart I always have a moment of admiration for the poor sods in the factory who had to rapidly put these things together.

would they allow toy’s today with spring loaded mechanisms ?
@Rocket1377 Жыл бұрын
Of course. LEGO has plenty of firing missiles in their modern sets. The upcoming Crossbows and Catapults remake is going to have spring-fired weapons instead of the old rubber band ones.

Hey Dave Great fix. It is almost like the makers of this toy said; How can we artificially inflate the price of this toy...let us put in 9 screws which do nothing to help take it apart... haha. Hope you are both well and take care of Yourselves 😊
