You should add that stop sign as part of your channel brand. Gotta see the turbine with a stop sign to know it’s you ;).

Awesome. I like seeing Wind turbine making power. It's really cool

It'll be next week at this rate...it's suppose to blow 45+ until Saturday and I need calm wind to bring the tower down.

We had 30mph wind this week. Our i1500 was hovering between 200 and 500 all the time. Sudden 40mph gusts just took over the entire thing though. I could hear it buzzing in the distance, with 600w peaks. Ive put in a boost converter to get 48v continuesly, even if its in lower winds. Works pretty good actually. Even around 12mph wind i get atleast 100w all day, instead of nothing at all. Way more quiet too, since i can load it up before it hits high RPM and makes that loud whistling noise. Cant figure out for the life if me why mine is doing that. Never ever seen it reach 800w+ though, which is a bummer.

So far every attempt I've made to run the turbines at higher voltages has yielded poor results. The higher the voltage gets the lower the load is, and turbines need that load to produce rated power. This is ultimately why my i1500 got swapped out...I wanted everything running at 48v. If the blades are buzzing it's likely spinning too fast. It's going to rely on your voltage booster to load it up, but it likely can't fully load the turbine. Just speculating, though, since I don't know what equipment you're using overall.

Have you ever considered getting a (used?) 48V pallet jack, or forklift battery? Given your potential generating capacity, I think your storage is woefully undersized.

Well I don't store much so for the purpose of storage it is definitely undersized. What I need are more inverters to burn off what I make!

My i1500 teased the 1400 watt mark last week, but winds were between 35 and 50mph! Does squat until wind gets over 20mph. I am trying to get a 3 blade hub to try out on my ista instead of the 5 blade I have now. Ya, their website shows hubs alright, not too expensive, but when the shipping of $115.00 is figured in, forget it! Ships from Istanbul! WTF? Isn't there a US supplier? Also, the listed US phone number is no good! Pisses me off.

If you go to their Germany store the hub+shipping to the US is 110 euro (about $120usd total). Not much better. The value of the Lyra has plummeted and screwed with a lot of their pricing. If you're crafty, though, you can make a hub for quite a bit less. I would start, though, by emailing them about your predicament. Explain that it's not meeting performance expectations and that you would like to try it with three blades, but that the cost of shipping is making it difficult to do. They might work with you on getting a replacement.

Do you have issues with those inverters for reliability or efficiency? Would it make sense to use some enphase micro inverters instead? Would at least be commercial grade stuff instead of Amazon special :).

I have really wanted to try one of those 1000~1200w microinverters...but being three to four times the cost makes it hard to do. These inverters actually do pretty well so long as you run them at less than 70% capacity and keep them cool...the tiny little fans in them are terrible and do not keep them cool enough.
