Sounds like a lot of fun you're having! I'm happy these old batteries are tough enough to handle a situation like that. Can't imaging the internal damage needed to cause a negative charge.

Sometimes if there is a bad cell it can cause a negative voltage reading. I've seen that happen

Looking forward to the heli 4 man, and especially what youve come up with to get it grid tied. Reaching the point where making power has become easy, now a way to dump it into the grid and actually use it..

and best would be to find a way to get rid of the batteries completely. I was thinking of using a transformer to boost the voltage into the 200-300v range, rectifiy it to DC and try feeding it to a solar inverter with a wide mppt range.. Small 2kw units start at 50v and are cheap to come by. Seems all the big wind companies use Solis inverters or DEYE. Apprantly they have an option to use a wind curve.

Can do a voltsge drop test from one end of the cable to the other under load. Best way ive found to find hidden bad cables

No budget for it unfortunately...I have to rely on discarded batteries. It's worked well up until now, I think it'll be working as well as it ever was once I get new cables across everything.

Trojan batteries are crud, just buy old forklift batteries, much more suitable for deep discharge

Can you do a video on your towers? I've got two i2000 I need to put up and since I don't have any money for towers I'm hoping to get away with putting them up on a long stick of 2 7/8 pipe. Suspect I'll have to get rich and get guy wires to keep the pipe from folding.

You really need to get them up high and 10m above all stuff within 100m. We tried and tried, took the turbine off, mounted it on a pole on a trailer and took it to the field. 5x the power and actuall steady in power. location location location..
