I snagged batman and two face 10 bucks off each black friday week online. Joker been out of stock and batgirl was in my cart but became out of stock when I checked out. Gotta go on a hunt for them!

It is a bummer about this wave and the paint on these figures. Luckily for me, Target did not cancel my preorder of that "Christmas with the Joker" figure and I was able to get it. But that was the only figure that I preordered from this wave. The Maxie Zeus figure looks great but I do not want to get the rest of the wave in order to get that figure. I already have versions of those other figures that I prefer. Great review as always. I am in the same boat as you, BTAS is my favorite iteration of Batman, and I wish that these figures were better.

Honestly, after they come out with all the other Batmobiles and the batwing and I'm pretty sure they're gonna come out with that Batman animated series Batcave I think I'm gonna be done with McFarlane.

Toyshiz, telling it like it is. I am also a BTAS fan. Seeing the execution 🤦. There are just some releases I cannot justify paying full price or even getting at all. I was excited at the announcement of this BAF release. Disappointed at the result 🙇. At my store I have seen them on the pegs for about 2 weeks with variying availablety. I pass. Unless there is a deep clearance and I can for all intensive purposes ignore or donate the non BAF parts (figures and everything). Buying anything seems to send the wrong message of support for a terrible release. Fantastic review✌️

I have all the DC Direct originals, but pick these up for the BAFs. Thank god the BAFs so far have little to no cel shading, because it looks godawful. I’m dreading them eventually making non-BAF characters which were not made by DC Direct, because it just looks so bad.

It is a love-hate relationship with McFarlane toys on one hand. I'm glad that they're giving us the Batman animated figures, and on the other hand, those same Batman animated figures have shitty paint jobs

It’s not just the cel shading, it’s the actual quality of the plastic and the paint. McFarlane is just throwing these fine molds out there with McDonalds happy meal toy quality. I’d collect the whole line if they were the same high quality that the dc direct ones are but these are just a rip off

Mcfarlane’s ability to spam out toys is unprecedented. They have released so many of those Marvel figures that I see ones pop up at Walmart and Target that they didn’t even do announcements for. I’m not a fan of emulating comic book inking on the marvel figures either. It’s an odd choice and an eyesore

I was really looking forward to this Two Face, since he’s my favorite character from the Animated Series, but this is so incredibly disappointing. Missed out on the original (if it’s true that it was made in 2002 like the info I’ve found says then I was only 2 years old lol) Was hoping this was my chance to get him

As someone who also passed on the original releases of these things, I too am pretty bummed with what McFarlane is doing. The paint is just so bad. The cel-shading is at least a little better with this wave, but why is everything molded in white for Two-Face? You basically can't move the hands or else the blue and flesh colored paint flakes off of the hinge. And the unpainted side of his face just looks waxy and bad. The original figures were basically all painted so it's a bummer. The plastic they're using also has a cheap feel to it which is a bummer. I only got Two-Face from this wave because I love the character and I grabbed Christmas Joker because I'm a sucker for Christmas. Even though Maxie looks the best out of them all, I'm not paying for that junky Batman and Batgirl. It's just not happening. Great review!

@@theguyonthecouch42024 you could try a couple different options a Mr clean magic works really well is probably the safest method but acetone or nail polish remover will also work but may damage the figure if not done right hope this helps :)

Yep, there are quite a few videos on KZbin that explain safe ways to remove cell shading.
