The negotiation rate also varies a lot, and our RD are just manage to figure out how it's going there now. Will update if we got a break through about that

This is why I just keep using my PC link cable from my Quest 2. Even if these issues were resolved there's still the battery issues, which the PC link cable also currently somewhat resolves. After 2+ hours in VR my battery only drops to 80%.

From MetaQuestSupport over at the forums: Hey everyone, I want to give a huge thanks for providing all of this information! I just got some confirmation from the team and they have let me know that they should have some software improvements coming within the next releases. At the moment, if you're running into wifi connection issues, I would highly suggest users send in a bug report if not already. This way they'll also be able to keep track from their end. Thanks again!

Hey everyone, this is a video in a series about a connectivity issue I've been having. With the latest update of v.60 as per January 15th it looks like software issues are improved again. Where I before could not get a full signal even inches from the router, it now shows 2401/2401 Mbps at 1 foot from the router. (Occasionally dropping to 2100 but generally stable). Unfortunately moving back 3 meters to my desk, it drops to 1900. So at that point, I feared it was no longer faulty software, but as people have pointed out... poor design and antenna placement. But(!) Luckily Meta refuted this claim that it's just hardware and said they are still working on the issue on the software side. Se community post for more. I've created a playlist of all the tests I've done throughout this journey, which you can check out: kzbin.info/aero/PLjn_5lkVKEO5DMyTvY9TQhLMz2GjPQZ-u&si=qQnCqXelEM6pFrjv

Update: With the new update to v.59 it is actually alot better on AXE75 for both 5g and 6g. It's fluxing but not below 1200 in 6g and not below 800 in 5g. Making it usable if you are relatively close to your router. But we still want to take advantage of the 2400 mbps so that we are not reliant on being 2 to 3 meters from the access point. Update from TP-Link Our Wireless RD found that it might be the case that Quest3’s wireless connection rate strategy is more aggressive in terms of speed reduction. Once it encounters wireless packet loss or interference, it will reduce the negotiation rate on a large scale, thus affecting the actual wireless performance. In other words, it is actually unnecessarily overly sensitive... especially when interference is basically impossible at 6GHz. We've tested the Quest3 v57(haven't got v59 yet) so far with almost all our routers from wifi6e to wifi7 with QCA/BCM chipest... Besides the test and remote catch wireless packet in US local team, we also got the Quest3 that we ordered from Amazon shipped back to our HQ R&D team this week. Other working router will allow us to locate the issue as soon as possible, and better in the 5G/6G with WiFi6(802.11ax) and WiFi7(802.11be)~ We will investigate to see how we could make it work better with our router, and focus on the meta quest3's firmware update to see if it's a issue that we could resolve with firmware update from Quest side. We also tried to join the Meta PTC to upgrade our test sample Quest3 upgrade to the newer firmware like v60 later. Hope we could get a good news there. We are also trying to get contact with the meta support this week, still waiting the response to get connected with them through email. Also thanks a lot for your updates about this issue. We will act quickly when the new firmware has arrived.

Interesting, yeah won't make you feel any better but people on Reddit are posting videos of them setting oculus debug tool bitrate to 850mbps and getting no frame drops using this router. The other guy on Reddit who said people in Europe having issues with this router compared to America but was not sure why. He just guesses tramission power rules in Europe for wifi 6 were lower.
@MrTeeF Жыл бұрын
Interesting theory, but very unlikely. They both use DC power supplies that converts from 220 or 120 volt to the right watt, volt and amps for the router. The only way that would be the case is if somehow the european units use different components due to regulations... but i doubt it.

So do you know if having wifi 6e even matters if you are connected with cable from pc to router (so headset > wifi to router > pc) with a 1gbps connection? The AXE75 can go to 2.4gbps but with a cable it wouldn't matter because it is capped at 1 gbps right?

Yes. But the Mbps showing here shows the connection to the router, not the PC. It should have a baseline of 2401 Mbps if dedicated at close range. Giving you a lot more margin for interference.

It's same Quest 2 at the beginning with wifi issues, problem is not Meta side, neither TP-Link. Both Meta and TP-Link had best firmware for products. Main problem is routers on the market using popular "AXE75's BCM wireless chipset" not good compatible with "Fastconnect 6700 system" ( an integerated modem in Snapdargon XR2 gen 2 [Tier 1] using for Quest 3 ) . Why sending signals, it reaches MCS5 only ? Cos it checked licenses, if yes... run max to MCS 11, else : back to MCS 5, random :: //note .... that's why other routers should contact to buy licenses for stable. That's my experience from Quest 2.

Hmm. I have seen reports of this before but not often... You might have some conflicts with your net in your area. Try using the TP theader app to optimize your network. This will have TP find the best challens to use. Make shure your 6Ghz net has a unique name and pasephrese and nothing else connected to the 6Ghz net. Also active PSC in advanced options for 6G. And of course make shure you have the latest firmware.

So apparently a lot of people are reporting the same issue of 6G not showing. I have never had this issue but here are things i have heard: - Make sure you're running the latest firmware via the Theder APP - Do a diagnose of network to make sure there are no channel conflicts: Theder APP - Tools > Network Diagnostics > Diagnose - Make sure the 6G nett has a unique name and passkey - Click on advanced in the 6G wifi setting in the theder app. Activate PSC and make sure that Hide SSID is not toggled - Wait 3 to 5 min and it suddenly shows up (This one seams like an annoying fix) - Add the network manually: Write down Name, Security protocol and passkey. (like f. eks. TP-link-VR6G, WPA3-Personal, passw0rd23). Then ad network on the quest and enter it manually without scanning. Let me know if it helped. ;)
