How is the router now? Planning to use this for Dual WAN and Load Balancing feature as well as to prevent DOS attacks. Will just connect my current Asus 68U to this for WiFi because its DOS protection and firewall feature sucks. By the way, would you know if the TP-link Archer AX6000 w/ WiFI 6 also has Multi WAN and Load Balancing features too?

@@alanrossreviews Thanks for the update! In the hardware specs, it says the TL-R600VPN has Multi WAN feature. But I'm not sure if it also has Load Balancing. Have you tried both features yet and can you confirm if it has "Load Balancing" capability or not?

@@alanrossreviews Oh ok. I found there are non Gigabit versions too and a new model R605 coming out soon. Actually, I need the advanced "DOS Protection" more than the Load Balancing. If I will have to choose, I might just as well get the Archer AX6000 if the R600VPN Router has no Load Balancing anyway. It has higher RAM and the more powerful CPU might help combat against DOS attacks that my home network is currently experiencing.

Hay Alan, a request could u please send me the link for this particular model which has a high throughput (the latest hardware) the one i see in amazon , i have a doubt it might be old and could have a NAT of 120 Mbps !! iam looking for cheaper SMB hardware (may be less than 100$) i have a cisco RV42 but its creating a bottle neck for my internet connection of 400Mbps.

Hey Al. My name is Allan Cross. Cool huh? I am looking at getting this device as a pair with it's brother TL-R470T+ Load Balance router. I really wanted pfSense but I think it is over-rated. I am curious how the VPN would work in this configuration. Can it be done? Are you restricted as to which VPN provider you use? Can I VPN through 2 separated through 2 ISP WAN connections?

if you mean access your home computer over a secure connection then yes. But it sounds like you just want a vpn service to have secure internet access generally?

it sounds like your confusing a vpn service with the point to point functionality of the router. You can use a vpn service and install that to the router for the home network for general browsing.

@@alanrossreviews I think you are wrong. It have 1 wan port and 4 lan port which 3 can be used for wan aswell as like TP-Link TL-R470T+. If you have any doubt please check the product details.

Nice Video. I'm planning to purchase one of this to use as my main home router. I fully agree what the idea you were saying.. By having all the data passing through the AiO router/wifi... it causes some instability in the overall connection.. And if you can give your Network a dedicated device like this, I am pretty sure the stability will rise up to what we can call an "almost" perfect stability... and letting the home router/wifi working as a dedicated Access Point for Wireless connections only.. Am I right? Thanks for your video. If you can, make a video showing this device working too. Bye.

im pretty pleased with it, no issues at all. So any ideas how to make a video of it working interesting :) I mean it will just be a router with some lights :) is there something specific you wanted to see? i wouldnt use the original router for wifi , it takes away the whole point of what you are trying to achieve, stability, the wifi router will still be a weak link unless you have an exceptional one. I added the unifi for wifi access.

You know.. Maybe it's hard to find any specific topic to be shown..so I guess a video to only show it would be useless. I'm from Brazil and I found this model here so I'm planning to purchase it since I'll be moving to a new 100mbps Fiber ISP and my current D-Link is 10/100. Not only this, I also plan to have a capable gigabit network at home =) With this one, my plan is to keep the D-Link working for the wireless devices and this R600VPN in charge of WAN and LAN connections. My only concerns is about some negative comments I found on Amazon, regarding issues with constantly need of reboot it, the lack of IPv6 too.. You know.. we try to always do the best deal possible.

my point with this router is its reasonably priced, easy to manage and is dedicated ethernet. If you are looking for ipv6 then you probably want a more advanced and newer generation router anyway. Its true there is no ipv6, for me in my small network its not an issue. For some no ipv6 may be what they want given there are privacy issues with ipv6 such as removing nat and exposing all your devices with their mac addresses. My r600 is working 24/7 and hasnt hadnt any need for reboots or had any glitches at all, worked with no drop outs at all.
