Pleasure!! Sarah if u cant connect to any tablet, phone and that means u have connect them manually, u have to pu ip address and gateway. U have to give a unique ip to every device it should be different to one another. and the gate way will be ip of ur router. Normally subnet mask is 255.255.255.0 wish u good luck : )

Access point are not generally work as router, router is router, but this day many router work as access point too, my router is Linksys and repeater, access point is TP LINK as u know, thank u !!!

Yes u can wirelessly connect with network and than can connect with lan cable with pc, its working as this too, but in repeater mode should be put as repeater bridge, thanks : )

- Then, find your network using the Survey button. - Go into wireless security, enter the settings just as Harry mentioned in a comment. ... That should be it. Important is not go adjust the network settings in Windows. Hopefully this will help someone in my exact situation if need be. I did not find this out myself, after 4 hours of wasting my time, I rang up TP-LINK Australian support and were very helpful. Cheers. P.S Main router is a D-link.

Hola, as you said that means the ip of your router and repeater is the same, you have to change any one, for example in router where u saw tht ip change that as 192.168.0.2 0r 192.168.1.2 and hit save, it will ask u to reload the page so do tht hope it will work, or same time by same process u can change the ip of ur repeater and in this case next time u have to type that id for inter into the config page. Dont worry about ur english, u r good ; ) Good luck

Yes you don't need any physical connection for extent or repeat signal, all u need stay in wifi range, virtical or hozigontal no problem.

Son of a *@*#@! Thanks Harry! I wasted a whole night trying to get it to work under "Repeater" mode. Universal Repeater did the trick in the end. TP-Link should fix Repeater mode. I'm sure it's responsible for many customer returns..

Hola Jose, the gateway is the ip of ur router, u have to write it at repeater, check ur router u will find it, its normally 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 depending on brand and models. If u not find than tell me the brand and model number of ur repeater, i will check for u. Suerte!!!

You can check by cell phone, put the repeater almost at the endpoint of ur router signal, check WiFi working there fine or not, if working than close the repeater and check again, u will understand, by the way if u have android phone there are many software at Google play for checking WiFi signal, good luck !!!

Thanks :) for set up wireless to wireless, u just need to put the wifi which one u want to connect and at the place of ip u have to put ip of the, ip will be the ip of the router that u want to connect. normally ip could be 192.168.1.1 differ from model to model and brand to brand, good luck : )

There click at Internet protocol 4(TCP/IPv4), after this at the properties of it at right side, there select use following ip add - there will be 5 set of box , the first one is ip of ur pc for exam 192.168.1.202 the second will u have to write 255.255.255.0 the third will be the gatewake of ur router tht u should know for exam 192.168.1.1 after this put same gateway at Dns server box and leave alternative Dns box empty click ok and refresh, ask me if u face any difficulty, good luck : )

If it says limited access that means ur ip address are clashing with one another, check the video fine and put ip and gateway perfectly. some time u have to give different ip manually to different pc for exam to one 192.168.1.201 to other 192.168.1.211 hope u understand, good luck and thank u :

Just one strange thing is happening: I have connected the TP Link Access Point ( as a Universal repeater) to my existing Type-G wireless modem, hoping that the new access point will release Type-N signal. But to my surprise, this is also giving out type-G signal. Is there any technical reasons behind this ? I believe I am not experiencing the full functionality of the typeN ? THANKS

Bro, i am not sure what the problem u have with ur gateway but i think the ip of ur router and the ip of ur repeater clash with one another, so you have to change any one, for exam if ur router ip is 192.168.1.1 than the repeater ip should be 192.168.1.2 or any other digit.

Hi Harry, I have a WIFI network running off a NetGear modem. I find that I have very poor signal on the other side of the house when I try and use my laptop. Is the Access point box the best way to increase the range of the NetGear modem or is it better to buy a signal booster?
