Funny thing, I remember years ago I found a fanfic called "Spreading the Hate" that also dealt with transferring anger to other ponies. In it, Trixie cast a spell on Ponyville that made every pony in town hate Twilight as much as she does, but it only affected ponies, not other creatures like dragons or rabbits, so Spike found out what she did and sent a letter to Celestia who reversed the spell. This episode was clearly different but it did remind me of that story in a few ways.

That sound like some story from Transformers about the Hate Plague....

Syabila Azri I think in context it was closer to the Powerpuff Girls episode Tough Love, where HIM turned the entire town against the girls.

I seriously cannot get over how brilliant it is to make these two fall out in a similar way to a married couple. The kind of "No dear, I'm not mad. This is fine" passive aggressive resentment that bubbles beneath the surface when someone is getting the shaft. Luckily Starlight learned the same thing that marriage counselling would have suggested: COMMUNICATION XD

Heh, I do see the parallels now that you mention them, lol

So who's the more obvious couple now, Lyra and Bon Bon or these two?
@TPrower7 жыл бұрын
I still think Lyra and Bon Bon are a little more blatant, especially in Slice of Life and that Friendship Games short, but then again, neither of them said they 'loved' the other like Trixie said she did for Starlight, XD.

Hmm... Trixie _loves_ Starlight. For her passion, no less. We have it straight from the horse's mouth. The shippers will go crazy (me included.) And although we had two weddings on the show, I think this is the first time something like that was legit said to a mane cast member...

1. Of course someone would. Good Lord. 2. I wonder what'll eventually become of the poor thing. 3. Heh, yeah. Dash is showing a lot more humility lately, like when she admitted she and the rest of the 6 weren't the last ones to save Equestria 4. Aha, that's right =) 5. Heheh, I wouldn't mind that, either. She was so adorable as a cheerleader 6. But who's the loser in this case? Trixie because she vanished it, or Starlight because it was her responsibility? 7. That is a little odd. I mean, we've seen Twilight get angry enough to briefly turn into a Rapidash, but then again, she's never had to consciously hold back her rage. Starlight admitted she's used to venting her emotional buildup through her magic. 8. *ba-dum tssh* 9. I'm not sure, either. 10. Aw, come on now, Harry's gentler than the average bear =P 11. Pffft, XD 12. Ehhh, yes and no. But, _technically_, yes. 13. Clever XD Good question, and we're only two episodes in. We'll have to see how much farther they'll take it if it is, lol

2. I wonder whatever became of the orange frog, come to think of it. 6. I'd say 90% Trixie's fault, 10% Starlight's, possibly 80/20 10. And Fluttershy is rougher than the average masseuse =P

2. Mmm, good point. 6. Seems a fair estimate 10. Heheh, true

Can I just point something out about Trixie really quick that may explain her behavior in this episode (and every other episode)? Ahem. You may not be familiar to what i'm trying to get at...so if you aren't I can explain my point. 1. Trixie, in my opinion often speaks with an abnormal tone or rhythm. It's not that noticeable before it's pointed out but the way she speaks is abnormal. Even considering the way people's ways of talking may differ there is just something about the way she talks that isn't normal. 2. Often times she appears unaware of others' feelings 3. She Inappropriately approaches a social interaction by being passive, aggressive or disruptive. 4. Trixie moves around constantly. I don't think she's ever stayed perfectly still on screen honestly. And most characters do stay still, or at least mostly at one point or another. 5. She is uncooperative and resistant to change even if it's a good change. 6. She has problems with coordination or has odd movement patterns, such as clumsiness. Now I assume her missing a goddamn apple a foot away from her was just that. 7. She doesn't have many friends. She says that Starlight was her first friend. 8. She doesn't get it when people are mad at her unless they state it. She completely ignores the tone of their voice and body language. 9. Trixie doesn't seem to show empathy. At all. Like...ever. 10. Her behaviors are very repetitive. If you try you can guess what she will do next more times then not. These are only a few of the many things I could point out about the subject but this is all that was needed without boring you to death or not getting the point across. Anyway...what does this have to do with anything? It can explain her behavior in general to put these aspects of her together. It reminds me of a certain developmental disability.

I was really looking forward to your reaction on this one and it did not disappoint. Starlight and Trixie really are perfect for each other. If it hadn't been for the understandable but unnecessary cuts to the mane 6 (and that..."lch-bh-ba" song), this probably would be my favourite episode of all time. Still a solid episode with a fun reaction to it though. Plus Starlight's exhausted manestyle was kind of adorable.
@Narrator0077 жыл бұрын
Even though the mane six subplot didn't go anywhere, I still liked seeing it just because it broke the mold of simply sending ponies away to keep them out of an episode but then never showing what happened in their little side adventure. Maybe the writers will get better at doing this sort of on-the-side thing in the future.

Pinkie and Fluttershy will always be my top 2, but I've definitely grown fond of Starlight after her redemption. It's just amazing how she went from a crafty and conniving manipulator into an awkward, adorable sweetheart. She's just so precious =)

omg, my senpai noticed me! I really hate all the hate poor glimglam has got from the fandom. She's so cute and sweet. I loved her as a villain and I love her even more now.
@TPrower7 жыл бұрын
She's definitely effective as both, and Kelly Sheridan really does a fantastic job with her voice. I do hate knowing that there are still people who hate Starlight even after all she's been through, but what's important is how many people love and support her, and I know quite a number who do, like we do. =)
