VERY nice! Regular sandpaper should work, using various grit. Gonna do this soon on my figure. The forehead definitely drove me nuts.

I know it's late, but thanks for the mod. I did do this for my own Sixshot, but I have an add on kit that includes a new helmet, but yeah it's just in case that helmet goes to hell that I got a backup one type of situation.

That's good stuff right here. I did that super glue trick with mine too. Works excellent! Next is that helmet. Thank you for the mod info

there is a technique in which you use a hair drier to fix stressmarks in general , you put the hair drier on the highest setting and keep the nozzle of it positioned above the stressmark and wait till it vanquishes , don't hold it more or you will make the plastic warp , i think it's best to do it in more than just one sitting
@camzilla517 жыл бұрын
I did try that quickly after I noticed it and put the toy back together. It was drastically bent though, so maybe there's only so much that can be done. I also did a trick I've had some success with where I apply pressure with a finger nail. That sometimes helps. Then again, I didn't know multiple attempts with heat could help more than just the initial effort, so maybe I'll try that.

Camzilla51 possibly , I already screwed up once with my TfP rid Arcee , one of the wing panels warped and I had to keep using the hair dryer to fix it and I did manage to make it rather unnoticeable

Nice, I'll be sure to give it a second pass then. Thanks!

I wish the headband was on the helmet, seems like such a waste to have it hidden.

I wonder if there's a similar fix for Titans Return Blaster & Soundwave; as they are, their helmets sit lopsided on their heads and expose part of the critter beneath, when the view shouldn't go above the eyes.
@camzilla517 жыл бұрын
I'm curious how you mean. I push the helmets as far forward and down on mine. In soundwave's case, it kinda makes him look angry, and I dig it.

Have you ever used floor-polish instead of superglue to tighten-up friction-based joints?
@camzilla517 жыл бұрын
I've never been able to find the right stuff! 😅 I'd be willing to learn that technique though.
@Mizzinno7 жыл бұрын
I used to use clear nail polish, then I found the Future Floor polish.
@camzilla517 жыл бұрын
Can you still apply that to an already assembled joint like this or do you need to apply it to an opened joint and wait for it to harden before reassembling it?
@AWPWN17 жыл бұрын
You can apply the Future Pledge Floor Polish onto a joint while it is still assembled or disassembled. It works best on friction-based joints (i.e. ball-joints, hinges and swivels). No need to worry about it fusing/freezing the joint like superglue. I have a Unite Warriors Mixmaster who has extremely loose hips, and I tightened them up just by adding a drop to those joints.

+Camzilla51 it's for Airfix aircraft model kits.

Why does your Sixshot look so bluish? The plastic looks like the one of the Takara version.

Which do you prefer - Sixshot or Sky Shadow?

This one's not a fair fight since I don't know sky shadow's story, but I'd definitely choose Sixshot.

what is the cardboard stick called?
@camzilla517 жыл бұрын
I wish I knew specifically. I think it's safe to either call it an Emory board or a sanding stick. I've had this for years at this point, I'm sorry I can't remember more. Especially since I'll eventually use this one up 😅
@frankiejames55227 жыл бұрын
Camzilla51 it's okay 👊 is it safe to use a metal flat filer to get the plastic off slowly then use a nail filer to smooth it out?
@camzilla517 жыл бұрын
Yes! I also have a couple of metal files from Games Workshop that I use for fine filing. They haven't worn down on me, but they do need to be cleared of debris often because plastic fills the gaps between nubs and nullifies the potency a bit, so just be aware of that. The paper one has the most surface area, but it wares down much quicker.

Camzilla51 alright thanks Camzilla51 for the Advice 👊

I'd be careful with using super glue or nail polish on Transformer joints because sometimes they tend to eat away at the plastic. A much safer (and I believe more effective) method for loose joints would be to use floor polish (pledge to be exact).
